I keep hearing how we develop shooters but really, who have we developed who didn't already have a decent stroke? We've made Pascal, Precious and Scottie into barely acceptable 3-pt shooters. O.G. has become above average. We need a top-shelf kind of shooter, and the only way we are getting that is to draft someone who is already there (or trade for him, but this is about the draft)

So yeah, shooting. And some height. Teach him the rest of it.

Just use the MLE on a shooter. Get Eric Gordon or someone younger if that's the direction they are going.

Or trade Boucher, Flynn or Precious for more shooting.

Shooting is at a premium right now, look at how much Joe Harris got paid, they won't be available for cheap. Boucher/Flynn/Precious aren't getting you a good shooter.

What do you think Harris might return in the trade market?

Well played. Davis Bertans and Duncan Robinson were also overpaid. They should've gotten the MLE and the market shows it. Though when the cap goes up in a couple of year, we may see splurging again, thus should spend the MLE now.

I suggested trading Precious Achiuwa for Isaiah Joe. OKC needs more defense and they have a plethora of guards.

I'll do anything to get Precious off the team, Masai can believe in him all he wants, he just can't process the game of basketball. His brain is too slow and even with a modest improvement in his processing speed it still won't be enough.

I agree with you, but he is still on a rookie deal and it is hard to trade and get any value on a rookie scale contract.

When he plays well he can defend and rebound like a fiend and be the occasional release valve on the perimeter. He just needs a coach to remind him to stick to that role. Nurse was all about freedom to create and it doesn't work for every player. The next coach needs to tell Precious to just be Dennis Rodman.

Honestly, I remember the draft he was in and the player profiles all said he often tried to do too much on Memphis, but he had outstanding defensive potential. I started to like Precious when he started liking Dennis Rodman videos on his social media.

Taylor Hendricks, Cason Wallace, or Sidy Sissoko. Best outside of the top 5.

Watching how good Xavier Tillman has been makes me crazy. We passed on both Banes and X for Flynn.

X was a great defensive big who could board and set screens and pass on the short roll. Everything has translated and now he starts for Memphis in the playoffs guarding LBJ.

Sometimes a solid second rounder is where the best value come in. Trayce Jackson Davis would be a Tillman like find - maybe even better.

Tillman and Banes were both analytical darlings. A lot of people in here were too smart for those picks. Taking the defensive player of the year in his conference was better than the best shooter in the draft because he had t-Rex arms, or a meat and potatoes 10 year guy in Tillman because he was too basic.

Flynn was an analytic darling, too. Didn't work out here and Bane is salt in the wound because the Raptors liked him and chose Flynn. Tillman isn't anything special. Grizzlies just got humiliated by a play-in team. Great coach covering up for a lot of frauds.

I actually wanted tillman more than i wanted bane/knew bane would drop.

X was my choice. Would have been a good fit.

How tall is Sidy? I've seen him listed at 6'5 and I've seen him listed at 6'7

Can't wait to see the combine measurements for a lot of these guys

I'm guessing 6'5 is from international comp and league last year. GLeague has him at 6'7. Is that barefoot?

I too was in this camp. I was really hoping the Raptors drafted Tillman that night.

At that point though, I also thought Flynn was great in the P'n'R and that that would translate well, especially learning under Lowry.

A play-in team with the GOAT and a multi time DPOY. Lakers were the team you wanted to avoid this year. AD went nuclear on defense the last game and singlehandedly changed the game.

Regarding Tillman, there aren't many if any PFs who can cover LeBron in single coverage like he did for most of the series. Your logic is pretty much the same reason why the Raptors passed on him. The guy is a 15 year vet type which is incredible value where he was selected.

One head to head that I don't have the answer to is who is better: Jordan Hawkins or Julian Strawther?

Both are the same age at 21 which is surprising as Strawther is a junior.

Strawther is taller and a better rebounder.

Hawkins is bigger volume shooter and more athletic.

I am leaning more towards Hawkins the more I see him because I am kind of shocked at how athletic he is. He has a crazy motor and can rise up for dunks and has long arms. I think he could lock up lotto if measures well.

I think shot creation and playmaking are the swing skills. Both to me should be in play at 13.

I think Steven Jackson and Dale Davis mated when they were in Indy. Pretty sure TJD is their lovechild.

LeBron's been single-covered plenty this year. He's not dominating the ball anymore. I think the Raptors opted for someone they saw as a future starting point guard and he didn't pan out. Kyle was heading into his final year. Complain about Bane, not Tillman.
