lol saw that. Jamal was more like 8 years old, not even 12 yet. Didn't seem to care about them winning though

That Auburn education! :D

26-19=12! At this rate E=MC hammer!

Well big buck Chuck doing pretty well for a college dropout. Then again he had plenty of time to practice cuz he wasn't going to class anyways! I was honestly worried that he was gonna jinx the Leafs but man I'm in disbelief.

If this team goes to the Stanley Cup finals and wins the damn thing this city gonna be in happy hour mode for a whole week!

The Raptors equivalent of this would have been DeRozan and Lowry eliminating Lebron James from the playoffs after failing so many times. You can see how much it meant to these guys when you see the different camera celebrations, even though it was just the first round.

I had the same thoughts. The first round had become the Leafs' Lebronto.

Done in dramatic fashion too lol. Good for them now they can play freely
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I bet this is a rod black thing. Those guys are real life best friends. Their families go on holiday together and chuck stayed with rod whenever he came to Toronto. In anycase....that's probably why it's on chuck's radar.

It's exactly like this and I know it's one round and there is 3 more series to win but imagine if the Lowry led Raptors starting with the Net series lost 5 more 1st round series after that. Getting that 1st round monkey off your back is a great relief. Everything after this win is gravy.

They got screwed in ‘93. They should have been in the final against Canadians, but league wanted Gretzky in LA in the finals.

and 94, 99, 2002?

93 was different imo. We were actually the best team left during conference finals. We outplayed LA but just didn't win. That was the only year I thought we SHOULD win the cup. Didn't think the same any year after that.

Gilmour was such a dominant player. Such high IQ.

I wouldn't say that. Beating Boston after the bruins regular season would be moreso the equivalent of beating lebron's cavs.

But beating Tampa is more than a typical first round victory.

It's still kinda crazy. I'm watching the tsn panel and they probably don't wanna be debbie-downers....but it's not like the leafs actually looked promising in this series lol. I guess the bar is low at this point.

Maybe Samsonite (I refuse to fight with the spell corrector) can steal a couple games.

Still can't believe it! Amazing.

Big game today Florida vs Boston. On one hand I would love to play Boston for a chance at payback, but on the other hand I might take home-ice against the Panthers (who can't be overlooked after taking Boston to 7 games and finishing the regular season hot)

that could well be....but it could also be a cheap plug by barkley because TBS showed the leafs game last night.

The comparison is not really the teams but the first round vs James. Even with Boston they have only lost twice with this iteration of the team but both teams had a hurdle in the playoffs. The mental block for the Leafs was the first round while for the Raptors was going up against James even though they did lose to other teams as well during that stretch.

The Leafs played way more conservative that they should have. They're a better team than the Lightening when they attack. I'm not sure how this sitting back playing safe strategy will work against the Bruins or Panthers.

The Leafs media is just terrible to watch. They seem to want to make every point against the Leafs. I watched the TNT broadcast and it was a fresh of breath air. They actually showed the Leafs as a good team.

This reminds me of when the Raps beat the Pacers in the first round for the first series win since the Knicks series win. It feels like a monkey is off their back. The difference is I don't think anybody thought that Raps team could win a championship. This Leafs team has the talent to win a cup but they've never been able to put it together. I'm interested to see how they do now.

but it never happened. so we wouldn't know how they would feel to be exact

and I would feel it would be Boston rather than Tampa Bay.

whatever the case they have to face their demons in TB and BOS (probably)

The Leafs have passed the first round while the Raptors are a treadmill team that flamed out and fired their coach. Very interesting times.

you can't really make that comparison because that result never happened before (Derozan and Lowry beating James)

Leafs are winning the cup folks, best team remaining, even if Boston wins. The team that wins the president trophy hasn't won the cup in like 20yrs
