Show me which "low upside" guy you're comparing to Jokic.

Penalizing players for being good young never made sense to me lol.

Saw the same rhetoric with Franz Wagner and now he's a top 3 player from the 2021 draft with a much higher ceiling than people realized.

Yep, exactly.

I still can't believe how good he's turned out to be btw.

People just overthought it.

Dude is 6'10, slick handles and can score from all 3 levels lol. Somehow that's a considered a safe prospect I guess lol.

This is true. His game wasn't "sexy" to most but the kid could flat out play with good defense. Myers fked that one up.

Lacob wanted him and overruled Meyers if I recall.

Lacob had dinner with Kuminga before Kuminga even met Kerr.

I wanna see Bilal, and Cissoko go 1 on 1. :D

I would bet that Cissoko would out-muscle Bilal and also stop-fake and turn-around / up and under him.

Apparently Cason has already worked out for us. Toronto doesn't even want a workout to leak.

I'd argue a lot of GMs take high floor prospects. There is a downside to this category also.

Is Wallace like a younger Davion Mitchell? Anyone getting that vibe?

Possibly, but if I remember correctly Davion is a lot smaller

Ya, Davion is around 6'2 while Cason is closer to 6'4.

Wallace is a much better shooter, bigger so his defensive impact is greater than Mitchell. I think Wallace is a high floor type pick. But is he going to be a Jrue Holliday or KCP type guard? I'm leaning more towards a higher upside selection here.

So he thinks he's going in the 8-15 range. Sounds about right, hopefully to #13.

There's zero chance the Raptors didn't come away impressed with Cason while interviewing him. Zero chance. His high school coaches were in love and so was Calipari. If Scottie was able to charm them Cason will have done it too. Cason being a low ceiling prospect is hogwash, I went on record before Barlowe did saying he has some Kawhi-ness to his game. No that is not saying he is Kawhi as a PG, yes it means I believe he can adapt his game to do whatever it takes to win at a given moment on the floor like Kawhi does, there's a seriousness and competitiveness to his game, I can easily envision him becoming a PG with one of the best pullup jumpshots in the league and that he can knock them down with the robotic precision that Kawhi does. Where his assist totals per 36 will hover really depends on the schematic usage but I heard some guy today say he expects it to hover between 8-10 per 36 which shocked me and while I might agree with the lower end there, I see Cason as a guy who playing within the team framework if he needs to dish out that many dimes and let the ball make its way to other players on a given night, he will. He is the ultimate team player and strives to make the right play/read every single possession.

Wallace is 20x the player Davion was at the same age.

His lack of scoring concerns me. And we’re a team that needs scoring pretty bad.

True which is why I’m saying younger Davion. I didn’t want Davion that draft because I felt like he reached his ceiling already due to his age.
