Re: Yahoo/Sportsnet: J. O
My first reaction is I like it. It's a ballsy, risky move that we can get out of in 1 to 2 years if it doesn't work out. Low risk, high reward. Plus we bought low.

You can hear this on tsn.ca - the video clip about the trade. Now I'm not sure if this was asked of Chris when the trade was just a rumour...or if he was asked today.
He was interviewed yesterday by Chuck on the Fan and was asked about the rumour.

The best part of this deal is the thought of trading O'Neal when his contract expires. How sad is that?
How is it unlikely he will play 60 games obviously the trade was made knowing his knee is fine or else he wouldnt have done it. Reports ive seen Jermaine states his knee has never been better and its back to how it used to be. Playing with Bosh also and Bosh playing with him can only raise their play
Why is it that fans go completely insane and go into wishful thinking mode whenever their team trades for a big injury risk. This happens with every sport. It almost always ends predictably and badly.

oh man i really wish we would've kept the 17th pick but JO is alot better then what we have ever had at 5 on this franchise, now we only need a good wing to compliment Bosh and JO if this is a done deal.

It was an interview from Tuesday when it was all rumors.

So you just described Indiana's situation too. Fair trade, isn't it.

When BC traded for big injury risk TJ Ford, people went nuts too. Are the Pacers boards going in a frenzy for trading for "injury risk" TJ Ford as much as the Raptors boards are?

I really hope that his knee is fine, but what player has every said, after a down year where they were recovering from an injury, that they were feeling anything BUT great? I mean, 44, 51, 69, and 42 are his GPs for the last 4 years... I think it's unrealistic that a guy who seems to have been injured for 4 years is suddenly going to be okay.

I really hope so.
O'Neill's an Euro.

You care to explain why? When JO was healthy he was the same inside-out player as Bosh with slightly less athleticism but slightly better D.
JO plays from the mid-block to the low-block. Bosh from the high to the mid. JO plays much more of a back to the basket game, Bosh is almost exclusively a face up player.
and, ummmm, 'slightly' better D?

Re: Yahoo/Sportsnet: J. O
Risky as hell, but a move that had to be made.
Colangelo isn't stupid, and wouldn't make the move unless JO was given a clean bill of health, a Bosh/JO frontline **** it don't get much better than this

Bring on the 08/09 season baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
