Yea, that's what I thought of the trade as well but I tried to make it as realistic as possible in that you have to give up something good to get something good in return.

I'd do that trade if the Bynum deal falls through and we rid ourselves of Calderon in the process...but I'd also hold on to Bellinelli (Think he can be a good 6th man for us still). If we can take out Banks for Reggie, that'd be great as well. Resign Amir, possible S&T with Antoine, and our MLE can make us a competitive team for next year. Maybe it's just me though, I am quite high on Devin and think he has all-star potential (Plus he's at his lowest stock right now, buy low philosophy)

Bosh for Bynum + Brown

Banks + Evans + Beli + Calderon for Iggy + Dalembert

Jack + Weems + 13th for Collison + Posey

Bynum/Dalembert
Bargs/Amir/
Hedo/Posey
Iggy/Derozen/
Collison/Brown

Looks like a very balanced team....thoughts? Do we do the trades? Do the other teams?

Stephen Jackson has been a great fit for the Bobcats, I really doubt they move him, let alone for this package. I really doubt Captain Jack is enough for Bosh to stay anyways. In terms of the insertion of Josh Powell, I understand him and Bosh are friends, but I really doubt bringing him in is going to help sway the guy's decision.

Good concept, but the negative of Calderon's deal offsets the $ factor of Iggy/Dalembert. You probably need to replace Banks with DeRozean to sell this. The other deals look viable.
eating Posey's contract is of value for NOH.

I also see Jose being traded to the Bobcats but for Diaw. It's not a trade that I think is that great but it's just so "BC-like" a move. The upside is he has a year less on his deal than Jose and plays decent defense.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Raptors IN:
Andrew Bynum
Darren Collison
Luke Walton
James Posey
Emeka Okafor
Andre Iguodala

out:
Chris Bosh
Jose Calderon
Reggie Evans
Marcus Banks
Marco Bellinelli
DeMar DeRozan
#13

Lakers in:
Chris Bosh
Jose Calderon

out:
Andrew Bynum
Luke Walton
Sasha Vujacic
2011 1st

Hornets in:
Reggie Evans
Sasha Vujacic
Marcus Banks
Marco Bellinelli
#13

Hornets out:
Emeka Okafor
Darren Collison
James Posey

Sixers in:
DeMar DeRozan
Jarrett Jack
5 million TPE
2011 Lakers 1st

out:
Andre Iguodala

Raps:
Bynum/Okafor
Bargs/Amir
Turkoglu/Posey
Iguodala/Weems
Collison/MLE FA (Steve Blake??)

Raps go into luxury tax which is apparently permitted by MLSE. They get a very deep and balanced roster and turn instantly into a contender while still having a nice young core. Bynum is injury prone so Okafor can replace him when needed.

Lakers:
Gasol/Bosh
Bosh/Odom
Artest/Odom
Kobe/Brown
Calderon/Fisher

Star-studded lineup, 0 chance of failure

Hornets:
Whiteside/Gray
West/Songaila
D.James/Wright
Thornton/Vujacic
Paul/Banks

Whiteside has a lot of potential, and could be led in the right direction thanks to Chris Paul

Damion James is an NBA-ready player who could help the Hornets return to the playoffs as long as they're healthy

Sixers:
Dalembert/Speights
Brand/Young
DeRozan/Kapono
Jack/Meeks
Holiday/Williams

this could be a case of addition by subtraction, giving the other young players more opportunities to grow and learn without having to rely on Iguodala. Saves a good amount of money too

what about this. My reasoning for Jason Terry over Hamilton is he can create his own shot, hes cheaper and his deal after 2011 is ungauranteed so he becomes a great trade chip that season. Mavs still need to win, Hamilton is a year longer and 3 million more annually. So what about.

To TOR: Terry
To DET: Stevenson + Berea + Evans
To DAL: Hamilton + Banks

then follow with..

To TOR: Walton + Harris
To LAL: Calderon + Belinelli
To NJ: Sasha + #13 + 2011 LAL 1st

Harris/Jack/Atkins (minimum)
Derozan/Terry
Turkaglu/Weems/Walton
Bosh/Johnson/Dorsey
Bargnani/Powell/Center

Don't see Dallas going for the first deal, Terry is almost putting up the same numbers on more efficient percentages (and a better contract) than Rip (pretty much the same reasons we want him over Rip). I don't think dumping Stevenson is enough incentive for them. I don't see NJ going for the second deal, and I'm not particularly high on taking back Walton and giving up our #13 for Harris either (I'd much rather do a Collison deal, because he's younger, cheaper, and is a better distributor and long-term prospect, with or without Bosh).

Toss out the Bynum idea, I don't think it's happening. Bynum is the better defender, and their team already has enough problems sharing the ball (Pau want "Ball").

Let's start hearing some realistic trade scenarios with Houston.

I see it going down like:
Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, Kyle Lowry, Jarred Jeffries, Knicks' pick, + Houston 1st rounder

but of course typical raps fans will cry foul and expect an Aaron Brooks/Luis Scola + Jordan Hill + 2 1st rounders kinda deal...

Projected Houston Lineup for 2010:
Aaron Brooks
Shane Battier
Trevor Ariza
Chris Bosh
Yao Ming

scary...
sanity on Jeremy Lin:

NO:
TPE
- get under the cap and dumped a large salary in long term

NY:
Calderon, NO 2nd pick

Posted this in the Houston Bosh thread:

Maritimer wrote:Not to spam multiple threads (I posted this in the S&T ideas), but here's my shot at a Houston trade:

Houston gets Bosh and Hedo
Portland gets Ariza
Toronto gets Battier, Przybilla, Jeffries, Hill, Knicks 2011 pick, future conditional pick from Houston

If we draft Paul George, this is our roster (asterisk = expiring contract.... $35.7M worth!!)

Jack / Calderon / Banks*
DD / Weems* / Belinelli*
Battier* / George / Jeffries*
Bargnani / Hill / Evans* / Dorsey*
Przybilla* / Johnson

Seems cool. I would try to extract a little bit more from Houston such as Lowry or their 14th pick this year as well. This year's draft will be deep. If the plan is to get younger than go even further. I would send Jose and the 14th pick from Houston for TJ and the 10th pick. Indiana wants to improve its image and they can salvage a solid PG in Jose out of this. We get an even higher pick and another expiring. Our expiring would be worth about $44M worth.

We pick up the most potential players with the 13th and 10th pick. You mentioned George but also get someone like Whiteside for the 5 spot. Use more cash to pick up another late first rounder, preferably diamond in the tough player. Resign Amir and then play it out till December 15th. I would also use the MLE on any remaining solid role players.

If there are teams willing to dump any good young players we go for that by trading cap space and young players. If not we use our cap space in 2011 to sign restricted free agents.

We need this time to develop young players, utilize cap opportunities like the MLE to pick up under the radar players at value deals. If Amir is signed at a nice 5 year 25 million deal and another MLE player then we can go into the 2011 off season with very little salary paid to value players

ie
Jack - 4 mill - Solid Backup PG
Amir - 5 mill - Solid Energy Backup 4 or 5
MLE - 5 mill - preferably a solid Backup 5
Geroge - 2 mill - Rookie contract at 3 spot
Whiteside - 2 mill - Rookie contract at 5 spot
Hill - 3 mill - Rookie contract at 4 spot
Derozan - 3 mill - Rookie contract at 2 spot
Whoever we get with a later 1st round pick - 1 mill

About $25 mill spent on young players. This would leave about $25 mill to spend after spending about 3 or 4 mill on resigning Weems as well. I have kept Bargs out of this assuming we unload his contract for an expiring as well.

You have about 9 spots filled for under $30 mill. Add in a couple second rounders this year to up that to 11. Add a top 5 pick in 2011 and that brings the salary to $30 mill. We have about $25 mill to spend. Who knows how the CBA might be. You get a smaller max starting contract which would mean at about 12 mill that can allow us to max out 2 players. Some restricted free agents at that time would be

Oden
Harford
Noah
Young
Green

Anyone of these players could be had at the max if we throw it at them. Or if any unsigned players from 2006 such as Rudy Gay ( if he takes the qualifying offer) are available you sign him as well.

I don't think Jose + #13 pick can get us anything.
And I don't think Triano wants more than 2 rookies, and one of them is more NBA ready (eg. Aldrich)

I think trade up is a good idea, and perhaps LAC don't need to pick that high for a wing/guard.
If Aldrich is there, I think Belinelli + #13 + $1m cash or #13 pick + $3m cash for #8 pick.
