there's no gratification from winning if the Raptors land LeBron.

Bob McCown's list of sources: ........................................
He was spouting off like he does from time to time. I'm sure the Raptors will kick the tires but there is nothing behind what he said.

I'll take an off-court **** any day of the week as long as hes a good team mate in the locker room and court.
I dont even know how its debatable to sign LeBron James. Some of yall already getting spoiled by our mild success.

Ask Heat fans how they feel about their championships.

I'd most definitely take LeBron and I think anyone on any fan base would. I'm pretty sure the "Salmons is much cheaper and more experienced" along with the "LeBron would take away minutes and stunt the development of Ross" comments are a joke though lol.

Treadmill for life brahs. accept it. This team is the new Joe Johnson hawks. Except there's no one as good as Joe Johnson on this roster
and another foe listed.

I honestly do not want LeBron on any team I am cheering for.
I'd still cheer for the raptors, i'd just hope LeBron starts sucking spontaneously so we can trade him.

Re: Bobcat: Raptors will make a run for LeBron
Here's my take from actually listening to what Bobcat said - it's not likely that Lebron will choose to come here, but he's heard that it isn't completely out of the question. I refuse to get make any assumptions simply based on those comments. But it's interesting to reflect on the psychology of a team's fanbase.
As we all know, the NBA is fairly unique in how important individual ball players can be. Only NFL with the uber-importance of quarterbacks can compare. But there's still a lot of stud quarterbacks, but only two Lebron's and KD's. It was nice for the Jays to acquire Alomar and Carter back in the day (at the cost of two pretty good baseball players), but even that one hall of famer and other super-clutch hitter weren't enough by themselves to carry the team to certain victory. The completely satisfying outpouring of emotion by this city following the Jays World Series victories were the culmination of 7 or 8 eight years of "organic" growth, roster fine-tuning, heartbreak and redemption. The perfect fan experience.
So tanking is a more respectable strategy than in other leagues. In the NBA, when you draft a stud player, there's still enough uncertainty about physical and skills development - and injuries - that the fanbase can take pride in their beloved team having acquired an Anthony Davis or Derrick Rose. Even more so when the player was taken later in the draft - a pre-catfish Paul George for example.
But to get a GOAT/Mt. Rushmore-candidate by free agency, that's a pretty weird thing. As a kid, when I first started watching basketball, I gravitated to the Dr. J-led Sixers. They had some great players and personalities (World B. Free) on that team, and every year they were knocking on the door of championship. But every year they lost. Then, they went and got the best player in the league - Moses Malone. I still don't understand how they managed that. And of course, they won the LOB trophy next year. But to me, the magic was lost. It seemed like they cheated.
Of course, it would be amazing to get Lebron on this team. But I can't deny that it would a bittersweet experience. What I tell my 7- and 5-year-old basketball freak kids is that Lebron, Bosh and Wade will get old, and the young Raptors will eventually triumph. And I prefer to think in those terms.

can't believe fans of a team that has only won 1 playoff series in 19 seasons would even consider saying no to a top 10 player of all time in the midst of his prime.

Re: Bobcat: Raptors will make a run for LeBron
Our one window to sign a big name free agent is 2015. By 2016 Demar will be a free agent (player option) and if he's still as good as he is now he will get paid. In addition, a bunch of our players on rookie contacts now will get raises. It's unlikely we will have cap space to go after Durant but we will have space to go after LeBron, Love or Aldridge. Unlikely we get any of them, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. If our team is good next season we could be an attractive destination.

Sign LBJ in 2014, Durant in 2016 and Wiggins in 2021 = Raptors dynasty for the next 20 years the nba will be forced to be shut down cuz of our dominance

He's probably not wrong. We made the call but LeBron didn't pick up.
Looking for a new signature. Currently, still evaluating.
