He said media.nba.com/stats which we don't have access to
but here's the exact same query from stats.nba.com

Both teams suffered from coaches who had no clue how to set up an offense, and all of a sudden they're running some beautiful offenses. OKC looks like they're still being coached by Scott Brooks.

So what does that tell you?

The issue is with the players ... not the staff

I'm one of the first people to tell you that people overvalue the hell out of coaching, and that they don't value the aspects of coaching that making coaching valuable and focus too much on factors that don't make that much of an impact in the grand scheme of things. With that said there are some coaches that can have a big effect on their new team, and I expected Donovan to fall into that Rivers/Stevens/Kerr line, though so far he's nothing really out of the ordinary.

Something I'm curious about after watching this game:

Portland seems to have their bigs in playmaking positions in their sets quite often. Are their bigs better at that compared to the Raptors' bigs? I'd say the Raptors could use more Horns action with the bigs at the elbows with the ball in their hands, looking for cutters/shooters and running DHO's. Thoughts?

Not sure how to answer that question, but I just know they run the same action call "Thumbs Up". Lots of different options that can be ran out of this set that I've seen. The Canadian SMNT also ran it at FIBA (no surprise since Triano and Vanterpool are assistants for Stotts).

Regarding Donovan I know for a fact he tends to give his players a lot of freedom to make their own decisions during games because he corrects a lot during practices where they would do 4v4 and 5v5 scrimmage from the clinic videos and open practices I've seen unlike other college coaches who are more controlling of what they want their players to do. Maybe that's why there isn't a lot of flow that people expected. But he has some principles offensively.

Damn, Boston opened the quarter with 40 on Washington.

Just watched Stauskas baskets on nba.com and 4 of them were great drives to the basket. This guy's upside is crazy underrated. He is driving to the rim every game to the point where it's almost the strength of his game instead of shooting, and everyone knows has a high potential from 3pt range. Has at least Gordon Hayward level passing potential. So what's missing to have all-star upside? He could be better than Andrew Wiggins

Shooting was always his strength, but driving to the basket and running the pick and roll were also strong points of his game. Sacramento treated him like the only thing he could do was shoot.

So is Detroit actually good now? With Morris at PF and Jackson as the lead guard they seem vastly improved!

Think Morris is the SF for them. Regardless he's been huge for them, a solid sidekick for Drummond.

For all his dominant physical gifts, Drummond still can't shoot FT's. 2-13 on the night. Wow.

Have there been any generationally athletic bigs who can shoot free throws? Wilt/Shaq/DJ and now Drummond, all terrible free throw shooters. I guess they never really had to work on that part of their game, getting by easily through every level on their natural gifts.

He's been working exclusively with a shooting coach, Dave Hopla, on this and was looking improved (19/33 57.6%) before tonight. Even a few (I counted at least 4) of his misses tonight popped out of the basket. It's a work in progress.

That's nice, Dave Hopla has ties with the Raptors (former shooting coach). He worked with Calderon way back when.

That's good to know. I've been following the Pistons a bit to see how Drummond has been developing and he's doing great this season. Hopefully he keeps up the work with Hopla. His form seems fine, so maybe its just reps he needs?

Just realized Bargs is 30. His 27-29 seasons were his peak seasons, as in his peak of negative value
