Not that long ago, it was "who do you rather keep?" Ben or Embiid...obviously, not anymore

Jimmy Butler being better than Ben Simmons 2 years ago isn't a good argument for why Ben Simmons missed 70% of his free throws and refused to shoot this year. It's definitely not a good argument for trading for him, even if Jimmy Butler being better 2 years ago DID explain it.

That is not what we are arguing about. But for some unknown reason vs the Wizards and Hawks he could not make his Free Throws. He was worst against the Wizards while during the regular season he was 60+FT%.

This season, offensively he took less shots, less possessions to push MVP Embiid (and Harris). He was much more concentrated on the DPOY trophy. You seem to be way too focus on the offense. Dealing a 4th pick for a 20y old 6'10 player wing that could have won DPOY and contain absolutely every one while giving 10 boards and 10 assists is no brainer to me if offered!#tradethepick

You haven't been this passionate about a player since incessantly pushing Boogie Cousins as the Raptors ticket to the promised land. Facts.

Before the injuries hit and the NBA went 3-pt crazy.
No doubt in my mind that
1. Cousins
2. DeMar
3. Kyle
Would have beaten LeKING.

First of all, his USG% isn't all that different from last year and is only a couple points lower than his first 2 years in the league. So no, he isn't sacrificing a ton to get Embiid MVP votes or focus on DPOY. But if he was, and if Ben Simmons was making OG money, maybe trade for him, but even then I'd rather roll the dice on a player not actively getting worse at basketball. Unfortunately he is owed like 145 million over the next 4 years. That would be an atrocious use of our capspace.

It is fair. The salary looks like an issue right now. But if Ben decides to shoot and be more aggressive then all-of-sudden he could turn into a MVP candidate (he has that in him- again the NBA has(had) never seen a 6'10 player that can move like him)

How is he just going to decide to shoot more and why hasn't he done that already and what makes you think he would actually make those new shots he's taking? If he would just shoot he would be an MVP candidate? No. If he could make shots, he might be a star. But guys who can make shots are guys actually willing to take shots, and there is no indication Simmons can do either.

It is fair point. He might never turn into that 20+points scorer, but 19ppg|10rpg|10apg|2steal|DPOY candidate should be enough to be in MVP conversation IMO, if your team is top of the standings. And no to derail Suggs vs Green #tradethepick!

Been a Suggs guy since the beginning of the NCAA season and I'm sticking to it.

He contributes in more ways than Green does. He's clutch, he rebounds well for a guard, athletic, showed good playmaking ability, high steal rate and efficient.

DPOY that can’t be on the floor in the fourth quarter of a playoff game is a problem. He is a shade over 50% from the line in the playoffs. And if that player is also your primary ball handler and making 33M - forget it. Not for the number 4 pick. Way too much risk there.

On occasion, can also protect the rim as a guard. Very well rounded player with a high floor and ceiling.

not to derail the thread, but again it was before Embiid was MVP Embiid then they added Jimmy Butler to stunt Ben's growth (like he stunted KAT's and Wiggins'). #tradethepick

"Stunted his growth". Give me a break lol. Yes, it's all Jimmy Butler's fault that Ben Simmons got the yips this year.

This year? He's been the same player since entering the league.

I'm almost certain Mobley doesn't drop past the Cavs at 3 so it's probably going to be one of these 2. If the Rockets take Green 2nd we probably end up with Suggs. If the Rockets take Mobley the Cavs probably go Suggs and we end up with Green unless a team trades up for the Cavs pick. I doubt the Rockets would take Suggs but if that happened, the Cavs probably still take Mobley 3rd and we end up with Green.

Mobley getting passed on by both the Rockets and Cavs doesn't seem like a very likely scenario. As someone who prefers Green at 4 I'm glad Mobley likely won't be there for us. He will probably end up in the upper echelon of bigs but it really is a guard/wing league now. Green/Suggs reaching their ceiling is way more valuable from a winning perspective than Mobley reaching his, and whoever ends up with us is in one of the best development programs in the league.

No way Jalen Green falls to us, he's at minimum a top 3 pick, on anyone's mock draft. If you pass up on him, you're passing up on a 30+ pt scorer for the next decade.

I'm hoping the Gleague route scares off the 2 Gms in front of us but I agree, I have it in my head that Green won't be there at 4 and i'm okay not worrying about a guy that won't even be there due to no fault of our own.

But if he is there, gun shots

Why wouldn't CLE take Green?

By all accounts, it's Sexton they want to move on from, so Garland @ PG and Green @ SG seems like the more natural fit.

Suggs' playmaking is a better fit with Garland, who isn't really a playmaker. The Cavs had a major lack of playmaking this season which was probably why they had one of the worst net ratings in the league. Suggs is also considered the better prospect defensively. I think Suggs at PG and Garland at SG would be a pretty good fit together.

If Green is available at #3, I think we should try to trade up with Cavs. Not sure if something like #4 + one of Boucher/Trent/Flynn/future FRP would be enough?

Cavs is interesting that they have Sexton/Garland/Allen, so maybe they'll be fine with any one of Green/Suggs/Mobley and will trade with us for an extra asset? Or maybe they just pick Scottie Barnes lol.

Maybe you should watch more NBA games.
Edwards scored 40+points multiple times as a teenager in the NBA, as a teenager! and has generational athleticism and built like a man. None of the top4 are built like that. Will see how Jalen Green develops physically.
*Edwards is younger than Jalen Suggs, Mobley
