Imo if OG's such a bigger value in this deal Indy can throw in a lot of value whether through picks or just complimentary pieces (pieces that Masai usually scoops up as a side-part of the deal and end up contributing to a major need). I'm down to trade OG, as good as he is, if we address the C need and maybe some other 'minor' needs with a young C that can help us battle the Embiids of the league I'll take it. Scottie is the main reason I could say this, otherwise OG wouldve been off limits.

They want 2.

they're just setting the price: for turner, they will end up getting a lottery protected frp + young prospect.
for levert, at best a young prospect + srp if that.

Damn if they want 2 first round picks for Turner, they'll probably want 4 for Sabonis. loool

I think this is a fair price for Turner imo. Robert Covington went for 2 firsts 2 years ago and he's a worse player than turner.
I just hope the raptors don't trade OG for Turner.

They'd never do that. Even Pacers fans know OG is worth a lot more than Turner.
If we're trading OG to the Pacers, it'll be for Sabonis not Turner.

Expecting 2 first round picks for this guy is delusional.

Turner has a low rebound rate because Sabonis sucks up all the boards. When Sabonis is out and Turner gets to actually play C, he averages 10 boards/game.
Turner this season with Sabonis on the floor: 5.0 OREB% (2.2 per 100 possessions), 21.3 DREB% (9.5 per 100 possessions), 13.2 REB% (11.7 per 100 possessions)
Turner this season with Sabonis off the floor: 7.0 OREB% (3.1 per 100 possessions), 20.4 DREB% (8.9 per 100 possessions), 14.1 REB% (12.0 per 100 possessions)

The difference has been negligible this season, though it was slightly more noticeable last season (~1.5 REB more per 100 possessions with Sabonis off the floor). Turner has played with Sabonis in 5 seasons, but his numbers are almost identical across the board for his career. He has never averaged more than 7.3 REB in a season and his career high for REB% is 13.9% in 18/19. In all 7 seasons, he grabs 7.6-9.0 REB per36 and his career REB% is 12.9%.

Anything short of GTJ + 1 FRP and we get laughed off the phone. They'll have plenty of people courting them for Turner.

This will be one of the more interesting things we'll see.

He's been 'on' the market seemingly for multiple seasons. The Celtics didn't want him for a sign and trade - which seems crazy in hindsight. I have no idea what his value is all things considered.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

A poster on reddit did the comparison over the two previous year. Per 36 it showed that:

2020-21

Turner with Sabonis: 12/7/3.8 blocks on 46% FG
Turner without Sabonis: 21/10/4.3 blocks on 51% FG

2019-2020:

Turner with Sabonis: 11/7/2.7 blocks on 43% FG
Turner without Sabonis: 20/9/2.5 blocks on 48% FG

Could we possibly get him without moving any of our top 5? Fred, Pascal, Barnes, OG, Trent. Any two others and a FRP
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

We better, because we don't have enough quality depth to give up one of our top 5.

Given my belieF that the Raps have WAY more pressing needs than a "legit C" - i.e., a bench - I would value everyone of our top 5 ahead of Turner, head-to-head.

Safe to say that GTJ, Khem and 'filler' for Myles ain't getting it done with the news there for what Indy is allegedly asking for.

7 footers who block shats and shoot treys are at a premium. If a guy like Zach Collins and Myers Leonard are/were getting paid, you best damn well believe Myles Turner is going to get dealt for a PACKAGE package that will entice the Pacers.

Let's all stop with the "I would do this deal' type of posts. It is embarrassing. Unless you are Masai or Bobby posting here.

Exactly. He blocks shots. The defensive aspect? I haven't seen significant evidence of Myles being a defensive force since he joined the NBA.

Now, he is a 7 footer who knocks down the trey ball. That helps.

having a legit 7 footer in itself would be a significant help to us, let alone one that could space the floor. watch some of his highlights and try to envision precious or khem doing some of the things he does and it shows a lot of what we are missing

they want 2 firsts or 1 and a prospect, do you think gary is merely a prospect? dudes proven to already be really good at age 22. i wouldnt be surprised if they would accept gary for him straight up.

Turner is 11th in the NBA in 3FGM as a C and he's ~20th among Cs in 3FG%. There aren't many comparisons because he is a major block threat, but that's the only thing that even remotely separates him from the other 10-15 Cs that stretch the floor at an equal or higher level.

Bang on!

I think you could get away with trading GTJ as he is the most replaceable type of player on the team.

Obviously it would be way better to everyone, but then there is no deal.

Well this is entirely wrong. This is an overpay for Turner as it is, so any premium is already built in there.

What do you think is more valuable, a steal or a block, if that's your rationale?
