Yup. Agreed.

Who knows what direction we’ll take at the center spot, but I do like the idea of trying to add another athletic that can slot in with the switching. I love watching how disruptive it can be. Especially when Banton is in as well. Absolute havoc.

If we were to get turner/or any starting Center .. without losing a starter … does Scottie then come off the bench ? Or turner/Nurk ? I don’t think it would be anyone else honestly

The Big man most likely but if we would do I think you send Boucher the other way. Really doesn't make sense to have that many big men.

Well take Cavs off the buyers list. Guard/wings still out there for buyers are Dinwiddie, Eric Gordan, Heild, Barnes, Harris, Burke, Fournier, McDermott. Then there are some bottom of barrel guards like Mclemore and Snell, and some other vets where contract isn't an issue. I can see the Kings decide to hold on to Hield and Barnes to try for Simmons again in the off season with, probably same for Holmes and Bagley unless someone gives them picks they can use later.

Do you take Dinwiddie, Gordan, or Mcdermott just to get something for Dragic's contract? I listed them cause I rather not.

Jalen Smith would be good prospect to add to the pool, but what do the suns want and Suns declined his option, but does the new team get to make that choice again?

I’d still be surprised if the Suns moved him this season. He’s a good security big for their playoff push.

They added Biyombo for the season and didn't pick up the team option on Smith's rookie contract. He's an easy cheap add if the Sun's are looking to move him.

Fits our mold. Long, athletic and can finish inside. Good rim protection and he’s young. We need help since Birch is useless and Precious still learning. Boucher is Boucher and hes a good role player but we need another big we can depend on.

Everybody is losing their freaking minds. Nutbars and wingnuts have infested this forum. We've become a public lavatory without cleaning staff.

I think he can technically play both but he’s best as a C and did really well as a starter for a stretch while Ayton was out

I’d still want someone a bit more imposing. But if the best we can do is Jalen Smith then I’d be happy with the add.

Why on earth didn’t they pick up his rookie option though???

 Please get Smith...I actually really like him, will be a good, cheap future upgrade over Boucher.

raptors will not be able to resign jalen smith for more than $4.5 mil
edit
A team can’t re-sign Smith for more than his option salary ($4,670,160).

The main problem trading for Jalen Smith is that Phoenix sabotaged his trade value by declining his rookie salary.

If Jalen Smith overperforms (which he already is), we can only offer the rookie salary equivalent while another team can easily outbid us in the summer.

There’s also gotta be a G/SF type thats better than Yuta and Svi.

Wouldnt be surprised if we move one or both of those guys and pick up an upgrade.

Maybe the Suns would want Khem for their playoff push? Khem and a second for Jalen?

His unique contract situation is a bit tricky.

Liked Jalen Smith on draft night a lot, was surprised to see him get drafted so high though.
Watched a couple times on the Suns this year and he'd definitely be a great fit on this squad.

Is that really how it works for an incumbent team in a trade?! Not saying you're lying, I just can't believe the NBA screws a team that didn't make the decision, feels like there should be some sort of stipulation. I'd be pretty surprised if we went after him just to take a bad gamble on him walking away easily but if that is the case then yeah that really messes things up for me but as a player/flyer, I'd love to get him here.

same rule apply to any team trading for him.
Because his 3rd year team option was declined, the most that Phoenix or an acquiring team can sign him for is $4.67M.
