Does DuFour even have a vote? I'm pretty sure Vecenie does though.

Vampirate wrote:What isn't talked about and very hidden is that Barnes had an outlier year as a rookie. He shot over 50% from 3-10 feet on the bulk of his shots.

I'm wondering if that was a fluke (not so much him being very good at it, but actually shooting 50% there)

I'm looking at basketball reference and i'm legitimately not finding a single rookie that's done that.

Not even Kawhi who had a lesser role and took half the amount of shots managed to accomplish that as a rookie.

I'm legit struggling to find a rookie who's done that in any capacity tbh. There's probably or has to be a couple that's done that before.

kispert, cam thomas and josh christopher all shot higher than 51% this season.

there were four that did it last year. vassell, haliburton, stewart and tillman.

it's easier to search if you go here: https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2022_shooting.html and go year by year.

Michael Grange and Ryan Wolstat had votes last year. I would imagine they'd vote Barnes, too, although haven't seen it confirmed.

I know Grange did, I'm not sure about Wolstat though. I could be wrong.
Either way, I'll wait for them to confirm before including them in the list. I trust they made the right decision...

I thought this was Casey at first. Now we are definitely getting swept again next season.

Ah nice catch, I was looking at Basketball reference bty.

It's still probably pretty rare for a rookie to shoot .500+ away from the basket as a rookie imo, especially if the player took more than 10 shots.

Barnes at 70%/50% within 10 feet is pretty something. Next year we'll see if he can sustain that on a higher volume of total shots.

If Cade is complaining about ROTM then he might have a point but who cares?

Cade seems like a guy with all NBA potential

dunno how reputable this site is but apparently they're going back to the lame award show thing...

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/news/when-are-nba-awards-announced-mvp-dpoy/yb2j2dn1s64nhdiopjl1yo2p#:~:text=When%20is%20the%202022%20NBA%20Awards%20Ceremony%3F&text=The%202022%20NBA%20Awards%20are,)%20and%20June%2025%2C%202019.

This will be the first awards ceremony since the 2018-19 season due to the pandemic.

I personally was a fan of the award show. Last time they hosted one, Siakam won the MIP and it was awesome seeing him get up on stage to accept his award.

It'll be fun seeing Scottie accept his. I bet he got a couple jokes up his sleeve.

hes gonna be handing out hugs like oprah.
