pretty sad
I’m just gonna ignore the draft at this point and just view the trade as a usage and minutes distributer. Who on the team takes the void Siakam leaves behind and grows from it.
Definitely BBQ's time now, for sure. I just wish we got them more immediate help with this trade because there's not much else here to support them. We're probably 3/4 years away at this point.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
If we're looking at guys currently projected to be available in the 20s, Tyler Kolek and PJ Hall are two names that stand out to me. They are both college seniors who are currently very good players, and have some skills that should translate to the NBA. I see both of those picks as possible Delon Wright type selections (not in terms of style of play, but in terms of being likely to have 10+ year NBA careers as role players).

Trading for a bunch of picks in a bad draft year. lol should've been future picks. Terrible trade.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
Thread about to get a whole lot busier.
The talk about this being a bad draft is at the top.
I think this may be a deeper draft than last year's crap draft/there are more interesting prospects throughout.

From what I've read, it's been described as a draft without clear or easy to spot high end talent at the very top, which is why people are calling it weak.
Every draft produces some talent, but it doesn't always come at the top. The talent may come from in the middle of the 1st like Kawhi/Giannis or at the end of the 1st like Gobert/Siakam or even in the second rnd like Jokic.
The draft boards from team to team will likely be very different, with a wide variance between the players.

Barely doing any research, preliminary inquiries:
https://www.nbadraft.net/players/kelel-ware/
https://www.nbadraft.net/players/ronald-holland/
Both in the 20-30 range projections currently with a potential rating of 9.
https://www.nbadraft.net/players/dj-wagner/
This guy also looks good.

Melvin Ajinca reminds me of Mathurin as a prospect.
Oooh he's 6'7 and quick, with a decent 3pt shot.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
Since we're forced to look here....I say TYLER SMITH might be the guy. 6'10 shooter.
His game kinda reminds me of Keegan, not saying as good but style of play.
Although I'm sure Kel'el Ware will be high on our board.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
These drafts that aren't top heavy tend to provide decent value for later picks. They tend to end up deeper than the typical class because anyone that can potentially enter this year is entering rather than waiting to improve draft stock next year because of the fact that it's so weak. That might have been the thought process for Masai here in acquiring these 2 first rounders and the Detroit 2nd rounder.

Crazy that we could have 4 picks in this draft. I still want the one we owe the Spurs to convey.

It’s hard to tell if Masai wants to bottom, or to stay competitive and convey this year.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
lots of players with high level role player potential in the late 1st round or 2nd round
Devin Carter seems like he could be a solid two-way back-up guard. I wonder if Masai's gonna balance it out (one F, one guard, one C) or if he's gonna go ham on picking lengthy forwards
Also, if Masai's sold on Tidjane Salaun, then count me in for the tank
