Yea, he's actually similar. More advanced in his offense, probably a little weaker defensively right now. But having both those 2 and ingram on the court... sheesh

I know it's probably already been said, but I really think if we don't land a top 5 pick, we're going for Maluach.

Maluach scares me the most out of these prospects. I feel like there's so much talent in this top 10 to draft a guy with such high bust potential. I very well could be wrong. I just don't see special when I watch him. He's huge but he doesn't seem like has much offensive ability. Wondering what people see in him? What is the vision? I hope I don't come off as a ****, I'm asking out of genuine curiosity. Maybe I'm wrong on him.

Cooper Flagg is what you get when you fuse Barnes and Banchero.

lol judging by your name I think you might enjoy the fusion process.

If Barnes weren't a *** like Bonner called him out for being and had better athleticism to get to the hole.

please watch the language.

I don’t agree with what you called Barnes but that’s why I said fused with Banchero.

Barnes on D
Banchero on O

Not having Newell in the lottery is crazy. He's one of the few role playing bigs that projects to be able to stretch the floor. The defense, rebounding, second jump, and transition offense he brings would help any team immediately.

junkyard energy bigs with relatively low free throw and dunk rates tend to not translate well to the NBA, it's just a historical fact. jt's performance against good teams this year hasn't been where it needs to be either.

They're not related (at least not to my knowledge) but pretty fun that both Obi Toppin and JT Toppin had career games yesterday.

Not showing growth year to year means more than a couple of games here and there. It's all small sample, but Nolan sucks against grown-ups.

I think he's a lottery guy, or possibly top 10 personally. I think he's basically Mehmet Okur as a starting point.

yep it's the same reason why risacher is proving to not be a good shooter, his splits were stuck in mud for years. his overall game was to be honest.

at least with some of these other french kids like essengue there has been some degree of improvement to their games as they've scaled up to higher levels of comp.

KasJak turns the ball over too much too and should be just considered as a regular sized, below the rim SG. I would say that he would be like a Jakobe Walter with worse POA defense. DND for me.

Thinking about players like players. Is Braden Smith like Reed Sheppard? Really shoot the 3. Reed was sophomore aged last season.

Really, he looks like Chris Paul that needed 1 more year of college. Got out of Edey's shadow and showing that he can carry the team.

he has a lot of the same tendencies that chris paul has stylistically/mentally. physically he has held up again and again vs much larger and longer players. my only concern with braden is just how deep the range is on his 3pt shot. i'm not concerned about his height.

but i love everything about him. he clears jamal shead as a prospect.

Going to play against kids> playing against adults

Not showing growth year to year means more than a couple of games here and there. It's all small sample, but Nolan sucks against grown-ups.

Kind of missing the point. He outplayed and beat him twice just months ago. If he went to play college instead of against men after that his draft stock would be much higher.

How about legendary Malachi Flynn?

Joan Beringer is a guy that may track a surprise lottery pick. In watching him this year at KK Cedevita Olimpija, he is showing his talent as a centre. Really reminds me of Jarrett Allen the way he can change the game with shotblocking and dunking at the rim.

He is only 18 and playing professionally. ESPN now has him at 24, but I could see him climbing higher given his play.

In 17 minutes 4.5 pts 4.5 rebs and 1.3 blocks
Per36 mins: 9.4/9.5 and 2.7 blocks which is comparable to Khaman Maluach. Joan is the same age but playing against men.

Size-wise he is about 6'10 but I think he is still growing at 18 and I am not sure if he has been officially measured.

HIs former coach talked about what stands out:
"It’s normal for him to improve, but not this fast. No one expected this. But the combination of his genetic predispositions, his work ethic, his humility, and his ability to manage his emotions. It’s scary."

https://www.fiba.basketball/en/events/fiba-u19-basketball-world-cup-2025/news/how-to-go-first-time-playing-to-projected-first-round-draft-pick-in-3-years

I think the athleticism pops, the motor and physicality and his frame will easily add weight. I might like him more than Khaman because I think Maluach is a little stiff to me.

I think you said it. The guy is HUGE! He's also very mobile, does a good job finishing around the basket, hits his FTs and will probably shoot it one day (though I think you're disappointed if you expect him to be a stretch big right away). There just arent that many coordinated, mobile 7+ footers out there.

You're also buying into the fact that he's only 18 and looks to be a hard worker/quick learner. It's definitely a potential play, but his baseline of skills gives him a fairly high floor IMO (Alex Len was a far inferior prospect and is still in the league!). Just look at how he played for South Sudan, or how much better he looked than Chomche while at NBA Africa.

Yea, he's still extremely raw to me. Probably still a high risk high reward type player.

Queen and CMB are the safest picks for our team imo. Their floors are much higher than Khaman.
