I dont think Bam will be able to lock up AD, not the way AD has been playing these playoffs.

I don’t think putting a big on AD is a good idea. I’d put Jimmy on him and double hard off Rondo’s man.

I dont think anyone is going to be able to guard AD.

And Rondo... has anybody been paying attention to what he's doing?
AD and LEbron are superstars playing at superstar level. Butler is a tier below.
I got Lakers in 5 or 6.

Congrats to the Heat, they got a perennial all star in Bam and I can see Herro getting 25 ppg in his prime while shooting close 40% from 3, along with one of the best three point shooter in the league in Robinson...they got a nice looking future especially if Nunn gets it together. Butler is Butler he'll be very good for another 3-4 years and if they get another star to sign over there then wow. I think they can push the Lakers, this wont be easy for Lebron.

Boston is not that good and they are lucky to beat us with Spicy Piece of Sh!!t playing like crap. If Crowder wasn't trash this series with his 3s they would of easily swept them

We should have beat them. It was supposed to be a close series imo but we should have came out on top. This is on Siakam

Yes it's frustrating. But I look forward to next season. Siakam will our Bam. Lowry is our Butler. OG better than or Crowder an aging Iggy. TDII will be our Herro. Not sure if Matt is big enough to get his shot off as easily as Duncan R., but he could be our JJ Redick. If Serge signs a one-year deal, and Fred doesn't walk without fair compensation, we can still compete with these teams.

Who do you guys think would win if AD wasn't playing? That's still a 7 game series. Rooting for Miami but expecting the Lakers easily.

Boston was just a horrible matchup for us where we couldn't play Gasol and Ibaka. At least vs Miami either of them would have been semi-useful against Bam.

And also depends if we have Spicy P or Playoff P suiting up for us......

Yup especially with the way Siakam was playing, if we somehow got by the Celtics the Heat would have beaten us in 5...the dude was straight ASS.

Heat are also a bad road team and by staying in the bubble every game is essentially a home game with no travel.

dont mind the comparisons except Herro / TD. Herro is completely another level above TD.

I'm still pissed about that. He didn't even need to play decent, just 50% of his regular season self would've suffice. He looked like he didn't belong in the nba in the Boston series. Turnover after turnover, deer in the headlights for the entire series. Couldn't believe what I was watching. Also gasol was a no show.

Who I'm really pissed off the most is Nurse. He saw for the entire series that Marc was unplayable. Siakam was shook. Our best player was ibaka. He had an incredible series. I truly believed if he had benched gasol and siakam more and played ibaka and Thomas more we would've won game 7.

Nurse riding and dieing with siakam and gasol cost us the series.

Lakers have played Portland(27th), Houston(10th) and Denver(18th) in defence in the playoffs. Houston while somewhat good on defence has zero size. They’ve been great but they’ve been in a great position to look great. Miami is only 9th on defence but at least has the tools to make it somewhat harder on them. Lakers often struggles to shoot. I think Heat in 6.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Yup we didn't even need alot from him just a bit more than what he gave...but he still couldn't deliver, he better have a MONSTER revenge season next year because that performance will not be forgotten easily.

If we made into the ECF, Gasol would have been eaten alive by Bam. Today the Heat's comeback started as soon as Theis came back in in the 4th Q and Bam started driving on Theis for consecutive scores. Maybe OG defends Bam but then it's Gasoal chasing Robinson or Iggy around.

Exactly. People got to stop disrespecting this Heat team. Absolutely no guarantees the Raps could beat them

I actually don't want Boston and was routing for Philly but damn didn't expect them to get Swept by Boston . Thought we'd be fine even if Pascal didn't play good or at least give us a decent effort but who knew he'd continue to Trash it up. I expected we'd still win with Gasol+Ibaka exposing their inside . Should of had Game 2 but Flop started to go CurryMode on us out of nowhere with 5+ straight 3s :banghead:

man I hope youre right.
You bring up some great points about the defence the Lakers have faced.
Denver's defence against lebron was brutal, let him do anything he wanted.

I can see Iggy on Lebron again. He did have some success guarding him in the past.
Heat can shoot too... will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Let's hope you're right. I said it before that I was never impressed with the Lakers' offseason after they waited it out for Kawhi. So I'm surprised they got 1st place in the West and made it all the way to the Finals. I don't want to underestimate them anymore because LBJ can will them to win.

As much as I love Kobe, I just don't want the Lakers to win it all because then you'll never hear the end of them saying "Kobe was with us; this championship is dedicated to Kobe, etc" it's just too much of a Hollywood ending and I don't want that to happen. So I'm rooting for the Heat.

I'm not a big FVV fan but FVV's defense is better than Kemba. I recall FVV using his low-center of gravity (almost Lowry-esque) to fend off Tatum in the post - definitely a notch above Kemba in defending the post and well above Kemba in defending the perimeter.

his defense is def a notch above, but his body is already breaking down. overpaying small guards, unless they're chris paul, never really ends well. especially once the hot shooting goes away.

guards are a dime a dozen and i rather not clog up our cap with fred. i'm not saying he's bad or awful, just that he's gonna get massively overpaid for what he's really worth.

Was just about to say this in here. Small guards are no longer a thing. Defensively sure fred holds his own but kemba is far more talented offensively and he struggled the whole series

Well, we did beat the Heat in the bubble. OG, who really is going to be our X-factor next season, did a great job on Bam. But to go small like that consistently, we'll need another productive SF/PF type. Stanley was supposed to be it. That's why I'm not for giving up assets like OG for Brad Beal. We need more size, not less.

I am surprised how satisfying it was to see the Celtics lose.

Return to Toronto Raptors
