Still no franchise superstars, but it seems as if there are more quality guys who can make an all-star game a few times.

I dont mind grabbing Brandon Knight, but I rather try obtaining him via moving down in the draft. I do think Perry Jones has the most upside along with Irving though. So I dont mind him either.

He had a great game but can he string a few of those back to back, and where were those kinds of games in the regular season? Is he going to become this year's Joe Alexander or Gordon Hayward (a tournament phenom) who gets drafted too high based on a handful of great games.

Yeah, he had a terrible regular season. He led all freshman in scoring, with decent percentages, but that really means nothing. If only he was as good as Kemba Walker. Imagine.

Honestly.

wanker wrote:Knight has been underrated all season. His stock has increased lately and will likely continue to go up with the tourney, but I definitely think he is currently undervalued. Obviously he is not Rose or Wall, but I would argue he is comparable to Evans in terms of talent/ability. Evans is more athletic while being a much less competent shooter.

Considering Kemba Walker as a better prospect than Knight is laughable. First, neither are true PGs, so please don't say "oh, Knight is a combo guard and Walker has "elite" court vision." Knight has a significant (at least 3") size advantage, is a much better defender, is a better shooter both inside and outside the arc, and is only a freshman.

what if we did the deal right when the season ended. GSW and TOR both eliminated and we made our pick unprotected. It would suck if we landed Irving and had to give up Bayless but i think thats a deal GSW has to do. Id rather 100% get a PG than there be a small chance we do.

would you make it unprotected? Or would you walk away at that point?

Actually, I'm interested in seeing how Kanter performs at the Hoop Summit, and in workouts. Maybe, he wows a team like GS enough to do this trade with the Raps.

Golden State would certainly prefer that, but would the Bucks actually trade Bogut for Steph Curry, who plays the same position as Jennings? That leaves them with a big hole at C and two young PG prospects.

I think even in that scenario we could get involved and send our pick to the Bucks with Curry coming here. They'd still have their own pick to potentially draft Knight/Walker/Fredette if they wanted (it looks like Kanter/Valanciunas will be long gone by #9). Or just deal with the Bucks straight up and bring Bogut here.

that could work.

To TOR: Curry + Biedrins
To GSW: Barbosa + Bogut
To MIL: Bayless + #5

that way Jennings/Bayless are at PG which is a nice duo for the future. They can draft Kanter or someone. Still have #9 to go after T.Jones too.

Steph's a proven elite offensive talent, and while I like Bayless I don't see him being anywhere near Curry or Kyrie's level (and of course we still have Jose). To guarantee a young core of Steph/DeMar/Ed, I'd make it unprotected.

Guys, if we offered Derozan and the #5 for Curry, Golden State probably still says no

Players like Curry NEVER get traded at this point in their career

There certainly are those, however, who see Knight heading for the high lottery. Chad Ford, for one. And David Thorpe says:

There you go, that's going to set the cats among the pigeons.

Thorpe believes Knights upside is almost as high as Derrick Rose. He's stronger in some areas, says Thorpe, than Rose was as at Memphis, just slightly less athletic.

He's not exactly an unknown. He was a top prospect coming into the season. He's a pretty ho-hum athlete with an average handle. I think he's more like OJ Mayo, but without the punching teammates and using steroids.

Knight reminds me of Jrue Holliday during his draft. Ranked out of the lottery most of the year despite high HS hype, then starting makes big time waves and gets talked about going to Sacramento at #4 for fit reasons, then he fell back again. Once again I could see Knight being talked about for the Sacramento pick cause he'd be an ideal fit beside Tyreke, if anyone can be

I dont get why anyone would trade ED for a a lotto pick. It makes no sense unless we get the top pick in return.

We'd only do it if Sullinger, Williams (who I think is a clear 4), Jones III were on the board and we thought they were better prospects than Ed (which I do)

I don't think trying to fit Ed with Sullinger for eg. is a good idea. I'd rather build a big 3 in prospects where the positions fit from this draft onward. I love the idea of Derozan, Sullinger and another top 8 prospect in this draft a LOT. But I'm a huge Sullinger pusher. I think he's the best prospect in this draft.

+1

All trade talk during NCAA games featuring Terrence Jones, Brandon Knight, Tyler Honeycutt etc. What a bad draft thread. Take it to the trade board.

Knight >>>>T Jones, did not like Jones at all and Knight was really impressive

Honeycutt would be a great defensive, energy, all tools type SF

if Knight goes top 3 i see a team like SAC reaching for him. They need a PG and theirs none in FA this year really.

he impressed me though. I didnt like his assist numbers, he reminds me of Lou Williams for some reason. He just likes to score and should probably be a 2 but is in a PGs body.

also T.Jones isnt on the radar for me anymore. Hes really fallen off a ton since the start of the year. I hope Knight keeps it up because then it ensures us one of P.Jones/H.Barnes and those are the guys i want on the Raps, mostly Barnes but P.Jones isnt a bad consolation prize as he has a ton of potential. Hes raw though and a bit of a project.

Maybe from a shooting perspective, but I think he's got potential to develop his PG skills. He reminds me of Rondo when he was at Kentucky, but with a jumpshot. He could be one of the better players from this draft in a few years.

I just hope we land in the top 5. I want one of Kyrie/Valanciunas/Kanter/Barnes/Jones III. Also really like the idea of trading Bargs to maybe get another pick in the 6-10 range and hopefully get one of the above if they happen to drop, or if not, then one of Sullinger/Walker/Williams/Fredette/T.Jones.

Knight has improved so much over the course of the year. I definitely think he should be under consideration for the Raptors pick. Though he doesn't have quite the quickness of Wall/Rose, he'll have no problem getting to the hoop in the pros and he can shoot the lights out.
