There actually is. You just have to watch their games online. In Valanciunas' case, he played in the Euroleague and the level of competition's much higher than NCAA.

Anyway one player I really like is Aaron Craft. I think it's almost a certain that he stays in college, but I am looking forward to his progress. I was more impressed with him than with Knight yesterday tbh.

Well link me a legal feed that I can watch without having to pay. See what I'm saying? I can watch NCAA guys on CBS but I have to go out of my way to watch an international guy. There's also the fact that, as you said, the competition level is different so it's hard to judge. It seems like a lot of these young guys get limited minutes overseas.

BC has been to Europe to watch Val play. The Euroleague tape will be available before the draft if we're considering Val. Plus we can see how he does in workouts against Kanter & the other bigs. I know that BC and Maurizio will want to get it right this time if we're picking a Euro top 5 again.

Sacremento is only 1/2 game behind us now, and 4-3 in their last 7.
We have an easier schedule, but with how we've been playing I can see us losing all of our games except vs the cavs

I really want to check the international talents out. It's going to be interesting because I've heard they play a man's game instead of a Bargnani's game. Like I've said for a long time, guys like Scola, Divac or even Gortat are welcome with open arms. Guys like Bargnani are not! :)

It would mean a lot to me if you guys could help support the wildcats and cheer for us.

Go wildcats!
Bear Down!

Sorry I can't help you. I'm a UConn fan. :)

Maybe you are against illegal streams and never use them, but I'm sure a lot of people here, myself included, use them all the time seeing how long the atdhe thread went. If people really wanted to and cared about the Euro prospects as much as the college ones, they could have easily watched guys like Rubio, Valanciunas and Vesely play on both legal/illegal stream. It's true that it's hard to compare Euro talents to North American ones and vice versa, but we don't HAVE to blindly depend on the scouting reports.

It's obvious we don't have to blindly depend on scouting reports but that leads me to my original point. Make it easier for us to watch them.

Your OP said that "It's terrible that we're still blindly talking about them based on some websites analysis."

I say Blame yourself, because unless you are against illegal streams, watching top Euro talents is just as easy as watching most regular season college games. Hell I can even find the links to the Chinese and German League games in a matter of seconds.

"I like when people say 3-4 more than a 4-3," Williams said. "A 4-3, most people think you're 6-foot-10, 250 pounds. Being 6-8, 6-9 and 240, it gives me a real advantage, especially if I play the 3. I don't like being labeled a power forward at all."

Well, if I can watch all the NCAA guys on regular television why would I go find an illegal stream to watch them? You're taking this conversation to a personal level when all I'm saying is to make it easier for basketball fans to watch them, which you backed up by quoting me. Why show replays of NBA XL all day or NBA Action on NBATV Canada? I realize they do show some Euroleague games, but why not negotiate for the rights to all the games with top prospects at least? It's not like it would lower ratings, but maybe it costs too much. Either way, my point stands.

Yup, wouldn't surprise me to see Williams go 1 or 2 in this draft.

Nice.

That gives us another option for sure.

My list right now is, keep in mind this is strictly my opinion, is as follows:

1. Kyrie Irving
2. Harisson Barnes/Derrick Williams (depending on the combine, tryouts, rest of the tourny etc.)
3. Derrick Williams/Harrison Barnes
.
.
.
4. Enes Kanter
5. Brandon Knight/Kemba Walker.

If we are able too aquire one of the top three, I'll be ecstatic. The others are more of a 'next best thing' scenario in my opinion.

As for the Arizona support post, once again, you've got mine. I would love too see an Arizona/UNC championship game.

Man I really hope we luck out a bit and get a top 3 pick, because after top 3 the drop off is pretty big IMO.

Irving/Wiliams/Barnes would be excited for any of those 3 in a raptor uniform

Sounds like he's getting ready for the draft :D

I would be very happy if we came away with him, but with Sullinger now out I think it's doubtful he slides to 5. He's a sure thing.

If I were Williams I'd hold off proclaiming what position I think I am. If he doesn't want to play power forward, he'll be evaluated as a small forward then.

And I'm not seeing top 3 status as a small forward.

First off, he plays like a power forward on both the offensive and defensive end.

I mean, that's first and foremost.

Secondarily, Williams does not display perimeter skills needed to be a big time small forward in the league. You do know, if he goes #1 or #2, the expectations increased ten-fold, right? And he'll have to meet these expectations playing unlike he's played in his two years at Arizona.

Bit lets delve deeper: do you honestly see Williams becoming a bonafide go-to big time small forward in the league? One who can iso, create himself and others off the pick & roll, and shoot off the dribble 20 feet from the basket? I know he's a bull in the paint, but that's where power forwards play.

Moving on, I believe he knows he'll measure about 6'7.5 without shoes, making his stock drop if he has to play power forward. But his problem is that at 6'8 240, he'd immediately become one of the stockier small forwards in the league. Williams moves more like a younger Artest than a current LeBron James without either of their ball handling ability. Anyone comparing Williams to Pierce needs to stop. Pierce came out of Kansas at 6'8 and about 220 lbs. He had small forward size with shooting guard skills and shooting ability. And its an important note, Piece has worked very hard to keep his weight about 230 lbs. When you lack great lateral movement, you have to keep your weight down.

Just food for thought.

Wanker is not a fan.

So Irving, Williams, and Barnes are a lock for the top 3, an order this guy doesn't see changing?

Ok... the hype continues.

If this is the case, team's slotted between #4-8 will be very happy with their picks.

I think Chandler Parsons looks like he could play the 3 in the NBA, if only because he's got the right size and skill set for the position.

Return to Toronto Raptors
