Man, I know the 2019-20 run it back year was magical and one of my favorite teams to watch, but wish we could have lost some more games so to not pick 29th (which they missed on Bane with that pick). Pick in the low 20s would have had a chance to draft Quickley, Maxey, or even Jaden McDaniels. Though maybe Masai/Bobby had Flynn rated higher than them and drafted him anyways, I hope not.

I still can’t believe we can get Quickley, I mean if this trade only Quickley + filler and 1 pick I will still happy , and Add RJ? Omg onoy2 games even he may not a star but he still a really good player that can play D and draw foul. We end up get 2 players can give us 30 to 49 points a night 12 to 15 Reb and 10 + assists for OG

Subbing off Quickley for RJ who proceeded to dumb foul Smart was funny. Thibs used to do stuff like that too.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

It's funny because Smart got away with that stupid move when he was on the Celtics so many times against the Raptors because we'd just let him either waltz in free or just allow him an open kick out because we'd overplay him to the drive as if he's actually a threat inside when the guy had almost no interest in driving. It's why the Celtics kickouts worked so well against us and he would rack up so many assists, that's one of his go to moves coming down court.

Such a simple defensive play totally negated that because he read that Smart has no interest in driving and trusted that his teammate would pick him up if he did.

I'd argue he's already a top 3 player on our roster. Amazing. If we got him in a straight swap for OG it would be equal. The high 2nd and RJ are great add ons that can only look better. The Knicks will realize in the playoffs that depth has its importance.

There's zero reason to think his rate stats won't stay at the same level in starter's minutes.

Him not getting fulltime starter minutes with the Knicks had nothing to do with limits on his skillset.

And his usg% probably even goes up a bit here.

He literally doesn't have to do anything different than he's always done in order to be an impact starter and mid 20s scorer here.

RJ isn't an add-on, he's a very bad contract that we had to take on to get Quickley.

He's not a bad player or a bad contract. Poeltl got 20M and Barrett is also a starting level player with age on his side. 28M isn't a bad contract in the current NBA landscape.

For me RJ is a bench level player tbh. He only got starting minutes thanks to draft position and contract. Darko already has him on the bench in closing time in favor of Schroder, and Schroder's barely starter material himself.

Yeah I wouldn’t consider RJ a great add on, that contract is pretty rough but he’s not a negative player.

Him replacing Flynn/Precious/McDaniels usage is so huge for us.

Especially since we don't need cap space. As long as we're under the tax, and we should be if we trade Siakam, then RJ's contract is irrelevant for the time being.

Anyone else think it was wild that Memphis went under screens on Quick? If teams are afraid of him driving, he'll have no problem getting open looks.

His block on whoever that Grizzlies player was had me really surprised. He's never been a jump out of the gym dunker but he has crazy hops for his size.

I believe he has an 6'8" wingspan which is great for his size so that liekly helps.
