I think it’s easy when you watch the raptors to see that RJ’s spot is the one where an upgrade would do the most for this team. That’s not to say his skill set is easily replaceable, the pressure he puts on the rim is valuable but if you can get a guy who can be effective on offense while also being a good defender it’s obvious you have to make that happen. Is that guy out there to be had for what we have to offer though?

How many good 2 way players are actually available on the market? These guys get hoarded by good teams or go for massive hauls (eg. Mikal Bridges)

Derrick white is prob the guy but I can’t see the Celtics trading him within the division and making us perennial eastern conference contenders for the foreseeable future.

Outside of him the other options are a bit flawed or likely unavailable.

Celtics value him a ton. They're also 7-7 with a +4.8 NRTG. They're probably better than their record and will get Tatum back in the new year.

I guess nowadays we see that Peterson could have SGA level potential.

To be fair, 22/7/4 on 56.6TS% is similarto RJ

Ya, but RJ went #2 overall.

Point being, 22/7/4 on middling efficiency isn't exactly "help" for Lamelo. And he is (other than Kon now maybe) by far the most help he has.

They really should just punt it.

Even with Tatum back, they're not contenders.

Now... bottom out, add a top 8 pick (top 4 with some luck), and suddenly you just extended your entire teams timeline by 10 years if you hit on the pick.

Or, you take your newly found RJ salary, attach the #1-4 pick, and bring in a guy even better than what would be 32-year old White.

SB might become the best co-star BI has had in his career especially if this winning culture continues

It's probably already too late to bottom out. They need Brown and White to suffer season ending injuries right this moment and then decide not to bring Tatum back at all to have a shot at that. They would also need buy-in from Mazzulla, not sure you would with how competitive that guy is.

Well yeah, they should have traded White when they decided to move Kristaps and Jrue, and not re-sign Horford or Kornet. Now they are just in a super weird place where even if Tatum comes back, they have to start Quetas and rely on guys like Prichard to be a starter.

IDK - to me they had the perfect excuse to sit Tatum for a full year, load manage the **** out of Brown, move Kristaps/Holiday/White, and fully plan to re-tool and come back in 2026/27.

I doubt they could get equivalent value for White. He's kind of their O.G. he is such a good plug and play guy it's tough to just jettison him. But yes, they've likely ruined their chance to tank.

People keep forgetting...Tatum/Brown/White alone wasn't a championship core alone. Jrue Holiday played a huge role in their championship run. Also having a contributing Porzingis was also a big part of it as well.

MIL (we led at halftime and only lost by 6)
DAL (we led at halftime here also and we only lost 1 quarter, the 3rd, and that was what did us in)
PHI (we were leading in the 2nd and hung with them for most of the game)

So really only the SA and HOU games where we were thoroughly outclassed.

We win most of those games if Jakob is healthy or if Bobby gave us another real C :)

This is the team I envisioned when OG and Siakam were here. A dark horse contender.

Honestly...I'll welcome any and all comers to the Raptors bandwagon...especially to spite that Cavs-homer, Brian Windhorst who is clearly butt-hurt that his Cavs lost twice to a Raptors team that he picked to miss the playoffs. Suck it, Windbag.

Next step: beat a good team with their full starting lineup.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

+ Horford and Pritchard. They were incredibly stacked.

That one dude said Ingram should be an all-star over Scottie.

Strongly disagree.

To be fair if I recall he was gassing up the raptors prior to the season starting.
