Can we just leave the picks out of the initial trade, and take on more salary to try to pick up Collison? I don't think moving from #13 to #11 is going to make a huge difference (at best it will guarantee us one of Udoh/Whiteside). I would much rather have the PG situation figured out with Darren as our future (and our own #13, which is decent in itself and will be enough get us one of Whiteside/Orton/Udoh, or George/Henry).

As much as I wanted to add in Collison but realistically, will the Hornets do that even though they have arguably the best PG in the league and a perennial NBA superstar in the making ?

They really need to shed some bad contracts, because they are over the tax limit right now (not a good idea if you're in the lottery). If Bosh leaves to a capspace team, it's easy to acquire Collison using the generated TPE (taking back contracts, and instantly lowering the Hornets' salary...personally I'd love it if we could just absorb Peja+Collison, since we could package Peja in another deal at the deadline to obtain more talent.)
If we're using expirings to try and obtain Collison, it becomes a little harder to do. We have to look at taking on longterm crap deals in Posey and Okafor, and they will want some talent coming back as well.

Jose for Expiring(Charlotte - Mohammed)

Turk for Expring (Prince?)

Damn. There aren't alot of expirings in 2011 that you could unload Jose and Turk with. These contracts are going to be harder than I thought for BC to move. I mean they both make $10M, it isnt easy to find many contracts that expire in 2011 for that price to begin with. We might have to try to package them with Bosh. Maybe try trading another asset like Bargs or Jack and package one of them with it. What terrible signings. GOD

an attempt to keep Bosh and increase our defensive presence

To PORTLAND
Andre Igoudala

To PHILADELPHIA
Andrea Bargnani
Marco Belinelli
#13 pick
Rudy Fernandez

To LA CLIPPERS
Jose Calderon
Reggie Evans
2nd round pick

To TORONTO
Greg Oden
Martell Webster
Baron Davis

Final Lineup

C Oden - Rasho
F Bosh - Johnson
F Turkoglu - Webster
G DeRozan - Weems
G Davis - Jack

This team would be in top half of the league offensively and defensively. This is a top 5 team in the east for sure, and maybe swinging the expiring Marcus Banks could net us a 6th man with a longer contract like Posey etc..

Why in the world does Portland do that deal? Iggy and Roy both want the ball in their hands...

could we trade Banks and Calderon for Baron Davis right now, with Toronto and Clippers both out. Would that entice CB? Say then we sign Amir and spend the midlevel for Mike Miller, or Josh Howard.

Bargs/Amir
Bosh/Evans
DeRozan/Turk/Weems
Howard/DeRozan/Beli
Davis/Jack

Why is everyone in love with BD all of sudden?

The above team gets eliminated in the 1st rd....for years to come.

I rather drop CB's fat contract and rebuild with a chance (no matter how small) of rising above mediocrity.

Tell me how far this team would go in the playoffs:

Harris/Jack
Iguodala/Weems
DeRozan/Weems
Bosh/Amir
Bargnani/Pick

Calderon for Ben Gordon

Gordon and Hedo back court, Hedo finally gets to run offence and Gordon a hell of scorer when he is on.

Not sure if our "D" would be catasphropic?

Just let the douchebag walk IMO

he loses his 30 million $ and Toronto loses an all-star I feel thats its fair that both teams are losing... if you think about the fact that hes going to Miami and then him and wade are going to tear us a new a-hole in the eastern conference. i rather have him walk then get Beasley back in return which is an utter waste. He would fit in well in Toronto. Pot head, lazy, etc.

A pot head in the NBA. Earth shaking. Beasley is far from my first choice, but he is a young player with tremendous upside. Take him on board, suck next year with horrible defense but inflated stats. Get a good pick in 2011. Trade players. Better than letting Bosh walk for nothing imo.

Bosh and jose for bynum sasha morrision (extended one year)

Trade expirings to philly
Evans banks sasha, morrision for iggy and sammy d

Jack/ #13 / beli
Iggy/ derozan
Turk/weems
Bargs/amir
Bynum/dally

A nice bench plus insurance back up center incase bynum injury. Team looks like it athletic and can play D, one would think they would be a sure lock for the playoffs

Sorry to intrude in your forum, but this is one of the worst Iguodala trades I've seen yet, and there have been a lot of them. Dalembert has more value than any of the 4 guys we're getting combined in any which way, and then you get to just steal Iguodala too? That's awful.

Still wouldn't do it. Probably wouldn't do it even if both were involved in that trade because Dalembert is part of it as well.

fixes everything

1) Draft Day.

Jack + Rights to #13 + Cash

for

Collison + Wright

Hornets get a position of need like SG/SF someone like Henry/George. Also get a nice backup PG in Jack so they maintain PG play he can also play with paul.

2) Summer of 2010

Bosh for Bynum + Walton + 2011 1st Round Pick

Lakers are conscious about how much salary they add, well this solves that by making the amount neutral per year. We get compensation in the form of a 1st round pick.

Collison / Calderon / Banks
Derozan / Weems / Belinelli
Turkaglu / Wright / Walton
Bargnani / Evans / Dorsey
Bynum / Johnson

Evans + Banks + Wright = 12 million expiring.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

DraftExpress

Not much has changed since the last time we discussed Fran Vazquez as an NBA prospect. He’s still the same terrific athlete who ranks as one of the best shot blockers and most efficient players in the Euroleague--and he still appears to have little to no interest in making his way to the NBA to play for the team that drafted him: the Orlando Magic. With the Magic in the midst of the playoffs, it will be interesting to see if GM Otis Smith even bothers to show up at this point to initiate the courting process.

Trade for Vazquez's rights.
