It's true, he has this Brandon Roy vibe about him and he might end up being really good.

So with all the rumoured trades and picks so far we might be looking at a top 5 like this.

1. Cleveland - Irving
2. Cleveland - Kanter
3. Utah - Williams
4. Minny - Biyombo
5. Toronto - Knight

According to his nba.com video, apparently Kanter really likes the Undertaker. Random.

I'd be happy if we end up with Kemba or Knight. Neutral if we end up with Kanter or Valanciunas. And PISSED TO THE MAX if we end up with Vesely.

I ruled out Burks a long time ago because of the whole SG thing..If it wasn't for that he would really interest me at #5. I have a feeling BC is going to bring him in for a workout just for due diligence, but unless he really wows them I can't see the Raps taking him.

If Demar filled out a bit he should be playing the 3 especially without a reliable 3 point shot. Enter Burks in that scenario. Burks seems still like a reach at 5. There still seems to be a draft night trade in their somewhere for the Raps if they are so inclined especially if Utah takes night. We should come out of this draft with nothing less than Knight or Kanter. Anything else looks like apathy.

I like the idea of getting Kanter/Biyombo/Val with our pick, and Selby with a later pick. I think he has the tools to be a very good scoring guard (6'3" in shoes, 6'5.25" wingspan, 8'2" standing reach, 42" max vert). He'll probably come off the bench (it's hard to see him start unless he shows better playmaking than he did in college), but I think he would be excellent in that role (potentially like a Jamal Crawford type).

It's hard to get a read on him because he was injured this year and played on a stacked Kansas team, but at 20, he still has a lot of upside and may be able to improve on his weak points.

Don't know why Alec Burks still under most raptors fans' radar
It's not like Demar is already a star player and set as our future SG
If Burks can become the next pre-injury Roy , take this guy and run,
stop those idiot "take somebody at ? pick is a reach" logic
If its not Roy's injury, would you pick him over Bargs or LMA back to 2007 ?

I have no problem with playing Demar at SF. He often guards small forwards as well, and very few SF's play in the post these days. Alec Burks is a great player.

Why can't we have a bandwagon thread.

Burks is going to be a good player imo. Too bad he won't be on the Raptors.

Delon Wright
Lebron

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Burks can definetely end up being one of the best players from this draft. He is so smooth, the only thing he really needs to improve on is shooting. Draft BPA, If anything we move Demar to the SF spot after he beefs up a bit.

DeMar is still too small to play SF, even with additional weight.

Demar just needs some bulk, a guy like Maggette isnt taller then Derozan and plays SF. A guy like Dudley isnt tall but is able to play SF because of his size. Derozan just needs to add 10-15 pounds and he can play some SF.

Indeed, I don't buy the Maggette comparison and the last thing we do is need a pair of wings with limited shooting range. One is enough. Burks isn't bad, and if he gets up as high as top 5, a team like Minnesota with a clear need at SG will take him, even if they swap 2 for 4 with Cleveland.

If the Raptors feel like Knight or Walker are not worth it at #5 I think you could swing a deal with Chicago. They give us Asik and we give them #5. We get our Centre of the future and they fill a need at the 2. Of course, it depends on factors such as Burks being their ideal fit, as well as the Raptors seeing Asik as an ideal fit.

I would keep Burks over Asik.

Or simply draft one of Kanter, Valanciunas and Biyombo. Asik's not worth the top 5 pick.

I would find it tough to give up on a guy like Burks before even seeing him play as well, but how can you pass up on a Centre with the potential of Asik? I mean, knowing what we know about Asik, doesn't he become a top-5 pick in this draft? I think he does fairly easily.

I'd be tempted to request Taj Gibson as well, but that may force Chicago to pull out. Maybe their 2012 pick could be included since it will likely be late anyways.

I don't really have a good idea of Asik's potential so I would pass that up. I think Asik would be worth a late lottery but not exactly top 5 yet.

Why not just draft Valanciunas?
He's 6 years younger than Asik and is doing just as well in Euroleague as Asik did last season (minus the PF concern).

I'm extremely low on Valanciunas so I may be biased. But I'd rather go with Kanter or Biyombo if I'd keep the pick to select a Centre.
