who else is available out there in PF position that can defend and shoot?

Nobody who has been reported as potentially seeking a buyout. Tolliver, JaMychal Green, those are the only possible guys I can see who fit the skill set, are expiring deals, and are on teams that will/might miss the playoffs

Looking at the roster, there's obviously a shortage of big bodies.

I hope not. I love Dedmon but with Ibaka and Gasol on the team, we don't need anymore C's who are looking for big guaranteed minutes. Someone like Gortat will do. He can come off the bench, rebound the ball and set screens if there is an injury or someone is taking some extended time out.

We really should be looking for a backup PF that can shoot the ball. I'm still holding out hope for a Jamychal Green buyout or we're probably looking at Anthony Tolliver.

Dedmon has the mobility to play the 4 and can hit the 3 pretty well.

With Dedmon, bobby marks brought up this point in some podcast.

He has a bonus tied to his points+assists+rebounds for which he qualifies at the moment.

If he asks for a buyout and signs somewhere he is not playing 20-24 min he won't qualify for that money.

That's why he said it's unlikely to see dedmon hit the buyout market, plus ATL likes him playing next to collins and may want to keep him around next year.

OG was outstanding on both ends last game, esp on D.... but I think he is our backup 3...not 4.

Biggest remaining need is backup to Siakim.... tall player who defends, rebounds and can hit three.....

We are solid in all other positions, imo....

So who could fit that build that could come available?.... two remaining spots available...

Theoretically, the Raps could use their MLE to sign him above the minimum, compensating him for that lost bonus.

What about Taj Gibson? He's on the last year of a contract and just got demoted to the bench to give Saric more playing time. I could see him wanting a buyout to join a contender.

I don't see much out there it's funny that VC is still one of the best options out there but he's to stubborn
and content being on lottery teams.

Maybe it's the lack of basketball getting to my head, but I just had a crazy thought. If Masai is looking for a stretch-four...

In presser for Gasol, Masai mentioned that they were looking for a good outside shooter and possibly a 4.

Ariza would be amazing.

Can play the 2/3/4, play tough defense, experienced and can knock down shots. Perfect for a playoff team, especially our team. Wizards should honestly just give him up.

Then finish off with a nice rebounder and shot blocker for last position and we're set.

He's no longer the same player but I wonder if Bismack is still quick enough to guard the 3 like he did against Lebron a few years back. If he is, could be a body to throw out against Giannis in the playoffs?

Of course we'd need to Hornets to fall out of 7th.

List of vets on cheap contracts that could get bought out from non playoff teams:

Frye, Jeff Green, Taj, Tolliver, Lance Thomas, Deng

Pretty intrigued by Deng as of late

Tolliver is my pick. We lack a knockdown 3pt shooter and he is a great one. I'd love to see him get the open looks OG has been getting (as much as I'm happy for what OG has done in recent games I don't have much confidence in his shooting). Tolliver would be our equivalent of the Bucks adding Mirotic, except Tolliver can play some defense.

I don't see any reason why Minnesota wouldn't buy him out. Before Thibodeau was fired Tolliver was basically out of the rotation. He's getting minutes again but I don't see how he is useful to that team outside of being a veteran presence.

Would really like taj Gibson, I think tolliver is really bad, like really really bad. I rather give the minutes to Boucher, at least he has the length to rebound and alter shots.

After watching that video, I actually wouldn't mind signing him as our stretch 4. He'd definitely be a lot more mobile/athletic than Tolliver...

Updated the post.
we have up to 2 more slots available still.
Buyout market (unless there's a surprise player entering looks super thin)

The best player out there looks to be Melo who's rumoured to go to LA
Teosdic (we already have enough PGs)
and Gortat
