This is just coming down to Nets wanting to convince Kd to stay and Raps/Phoenix/Boston wanting KD.

Will be interesting who flinches.

No way the Nets move Claxton for OG and I'm not sure why the Raptors would want a 29 year old DFS as the main piece if Claxton isn't included. I think the Nets have a better chance at FVV than OG.

I'd go after Claxton over Poeltl. Both have really good defensive impact and one is 5 yrs younger

If we get Kd, I think Masai signs Fred to a two year max that way Fred can go for a higher pay in 2025 with the new Tv deal.

Compete for 2 years then you can trade expirings and Kd with an additional year left to recoup some of what we lost

We'd have:

FVV
KD
Scottie
Siakam
Poeltl

Precious
Boucher
Curry
Thad
Buy-out candidates

I need scottie, pascal and OG for KD and simmons

3 picks and dinwidde for og
3 picks and joe harris for og
3 picks cam thomas and fillers (patty mills etc) for og.

i like the idea of 3 picks from bkn, people will complain that its too far in future but that's a positive in my books and for teams (windhorst/lowe said same in the podcast today, teams prefer far away picks)

bkn 2029 unprotected, dallas 2029 unprotected, 76ers 27 top 8 protected till 28(also top 8 then becomes seconds.)

i like the idea of betting against 2-3 teams, spreading risk around

The Raptors strike me as a team who would want a young prospect back. I don't think they would make a trade centered around picks down the line unless they think they can flip them.

Cam Thomas isn't it as a prospect either imo. He's basically another GTJ at best.

If they're talking about this: https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/270314/Brooklyns-Ability-To-Make-Compelling-Offer-To-Raptors-Suddenly-Very-Interesting

Then the source is actually BRIAN WINDHORST, ZACH LOWE/ESPN

I agree - I can see a blend of both, but not just picks. I don't think Masai wants to outright tank, but instead would prefer to develop a young guy into a star while outsourcing the tank.

Totally makes sense now why Masai waited to see if a star becomes available closer to deadline. Now he pivots

Trade for KD & Curry for Pascal and OG with some combo of picks etc.

Then re-sign Fred to a 2 year max in summer. Re-sign Trent to a decent deal.

You have

Fred
Durant
Barnes
Trent
Precious

Bench

Boucher
Flynn
Curry
Birch
Juancho
Banton
Koloklo

Now all you need to do is get two better bench pieces from either trades, MLE or buyout candidates. You can also sign vet min players who are ring chasing.

Maybe Kyrie asking to be traded becomes a blessing in disguise

SAS: KD about to get traded (Boston)

No doubt Stephen A got connections and his ears to the streets. Jaylen brown is the best offer Nets are probably going to get. Time to lock in that +300 celtics championship prop bet.

F*ck a deal with BKN unless they're doing it for Fred.

Idk when people will accept that BKN is NOT looking to trade KD, that's crystal clear by the LA packages they rejected.

If they had any inkling of being ready to move on from Durant they take one of the LA packages that had more picks (period). They didn't, they went & sought out what they thought were the 2 "best" players that would be most ready to HELP KEEP Durant somewhat happy. Just click off the Trade Machine for 2 seconds & re-read until you come to accept that until KD makes a public DEMAND to be traded, he ISN'T going ANYWHERE.

BROOKLYN IS TRYING TO ADD PIECES WITH KD, NOT TRADE KD.

With OG, I'd MUCH rather deal with any of NOP, POR or even MEM more than BKN. So we can have OG in our division helping KD curb stomp us lol hell no, send him out West AND their trade packages are just way better. We don't need to keep adding non-shooter after non-shooter. Not with our most valuable asset...trying to get ok value for Fred is another thing and then sure send him to BKN give us Thomas, DAL pick etc.

This is interesting. It looks like fans here are thinking we're going after KD, while others think the Nets are trying to build around KD. The Nets gave away all their picks. I can't see them trading KD away, but we'll see.

I think this is more on Brooklyn's end as they're a leaky ship desperate to get KD to not demand a trade right now.

Is that the Yuta effect?

How do you build around a 35 million dollar hole in Simmons.

I have no doubt BKN may want to build around KD, the issue is what does KD want. If KD says hes out behind closed doors, they wont let that leak. So obviously they would pretend they want to build around him and try and convince him to the last minute. This may lead to him being traded on deadline day. This is why you dont trade a week before you know the exact landscape of trade market.

Irving is an exception as he had limited suitors

True I'd much rather keep Fred in the east and move OG to the west.

SAS just spinning his own garbage that KD is on the trade block for clicks

BRK is making moves to support KD and they want to go all in for this season .. I dont see how they trade him now when all off-season they didnt

I believe 100% they want either Fred / OG but they want to give us scraps and not include Claxton

Return to Toronto Raptors
