Lets go 905. They may be a contender in the G League this season. Send Dick, JaKobe, and Shead down there when its playoffs time.

He's only allowed to play 16 more games with the Raptors before his contract has to be converted, to continue playing.

Yeah no need to call him up when we have too many rotation guys as is.
Wait till the deadline is over. See who we deal and get back. Then look to give him a real deal locking him in for awhile.
Nothing wrong with guys developing in the gleague all year. Ideally, we will start a nice pipeline of guys coming from there to eventually be good rotation guys.

There was a nice hold me back moment there. Chomche playing peacemaker.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

I believe they view Chomche as a future 1st round pick that they have stashed away.
He has that much potential. He is getting closer to a "can't miss.prospect" in my mind..

far from can't miss but I'm seeing him as a backup defensive specialist at minimum now. I guess saying he can't miss at being a backend rotation guy is an absolute hit at where he was picked...so I guess I agree...just never used "can't miss in this way.

Re: The 905, 'sauga world
I watched this one, really nice Mogbo game. He was everywhere and did a bit of everything, final stat line backed up the eye test: 14/9/5 on 8 shots, made his only 3 point attempt, 2 of his boards were offensive, also added 2 steals and 1 block and led the team with a +23.
If he can make even modest improvements to his handle, decision making and his shot, he's going to be a VERY interesting 4 and small-ball 5. Even currently, he's good enough skill-wise and with enough feel to defend at the NBA level.
Chomche had his moments. I'm as bullish as most here but people seem to think he's closer to play-ready than I am. He still looks lost a lot of the time to me, but his help D is elite and he's smart with his offence so he doesn't hurt the team (went 6/6 today, presented himself as a great lob target in the 4th on one of his dunks).

This was one of the 1st times where Mogbo didn't look timid with the ball, if that makes sense.
Lots of times he gets the ball and he doesn't think about scoring or getting to the hoop. Thus game in the minutes I saw he looked much more confident in putting pressure on the opponents defense.

Of those getting minutes, who would sit? Better to leave him there practicing defence and developing non-three offencive skills than have him watch Rsptor games from the bench.
We need a trade where we get back less players than we send out.

Yup. That is exactly what I was saying. Basically the last pick in the draft that many weren't sure would even become.an NBA player.
I have upgraded my view on him to eventually being a rotation player in the NBA & having a legit career.
I think the definition of "can't miss" as an 18 yo late second rounder (from a small village in Africa) has to be a little different than a lottery pick that went to a D1 school.

Mogbo's lack of scoring ability might not be an issue as a bench PF, and he fits nicely in theory with Grady as a bench duo. It's pretty rare for a rookie to not suck, and Mogbo didn't suck, because he plays D and doesn't take bad shots, which is not true of 95% of rookies.
Chomche-Mogbo-Agbaji-Grady-PG from the 2026 draft might be a really fun bench by the business end of the 2026-27 season, assuming we draft a 2 guard or Walter blows up or we trade for a wing.
Where's the D?

Here's my question...
Chomche and Maluach were both at the NBA Africa as recently as last year. Chomche is by calendar year...a year older although he was born on the 2nd last day of the year (Dec 30, 2005) whereas Maluach has a birthday in September 2006. So Ulrich is like 9 months older than Maluach but Maluach is the one that got the scholarship to Duke. How different are they in terms of development? Is Ulrich that much more raw than Maluach?
You can see them together in this video.

I'm a huge Chomche guy, but Maluach is pretty comfortably the better prospect. As crazy as Chomche's combination of length + mobility is, Maluach is equally as mobile while being bigger and stronger. His shooting is also levels above Chomche's right now, even though he hasn't been asked to show it at Duke.
This is 17 year old Maluach playing against grown men in the Basketball Africa League last year:
