Yeah trading a first and a productive player in Poeltl for a guy who hasn't played a full season since his second year back in 2017 is asking for trouble. This would be his 6th team in 10 years add in the fact he's currently out with an achilles injury and it's an even bigger no. I don't want to be the team that gives him his new contract. Honestly I think he might be done or might just want to go finish his career with a European club

I doubt Miami does this deal. IQ is a very bad fit next to Herro, Ochai joins a crowded SF group and Gradey joins an even more crowded group. Both have little value to Miami so this is Poeltl and IQ for Bam which is an automatic no from Miami. After this trade Toronto would need a point guard in the worst way but I guess could use Roziers expiring to try to get one

Just looked at that article and it's rather stupid. Boston isn't moving Brown not until they see what Tatum and Brown are like next year and see if both can play together again post injury. Toronto isn't going to move 3 1st round picks to a divisional rival especially one of those picks being two years after Brown's deal is off the books. I get what Jaylen can do and he becomes the clear alpha scorer but Toronto has no C after this and the current guys aren't good.

The MPJ trade is just stupid yeah let's trade 2 first round picks plus RJ for a guy who doesn't have a clear position on this team is extremely redundant with BI and more importantly the team his brother got banned from. Put this in the it'll never ever happen category.

I don't like Collin Sexton trade. Why trade RJ who is a better fit for a guy whose very similar to IQ but not under contract next year and is a bad defensive fit? Pat is just a JAG like what is his value here? To maybe teach Gradey Dick how to be a better shooter? Idk seems like a bad deal.

Apparently Knicks are shopping KAT.

This is a guy that I believe would be a perfect fit on this ball club.

Send IQ home to New York, where the fans and players love him. Poeltl gives the Knicks a defensive big, premier roll man, and an excellent PNR partner for Brunson.

If New York is stupid enough for letting the first deal happen I take it and run. KAT is like you said the perfect fit here gives you a solid rebounder and is among the best shooting bigs in the league. I am not sure why they give him to Toronto to get an uber expensive backup point guard or SG.

I honestly stop there and don't do the Morant deal don't want his baggage on this team. I feel like he honestly would ask to be moved elsewhere and his value is in the toilet right now

This is just a framework. I think it's possible to grab Bam right now. He doesn't seem to mesh with Ware. That said, we probably get outbid by deals centered on expiring contracts and draft capital.

Problem is Miami would get better offers. IQ is a poor fit on Miami and like I said Ochai has little to no value to Miami. You could give them your first this year a swap next year and the 2028 1st and still it's a no. IQ to Miami brings the value too far down.

Hawkins is mostly for salary filler, he's been having a bad year.
Missi is young and fills a position of need.

The Raptors win… a lot, when RJ, Scottie and Ingram play together. Also, RJ has basically started every game he has ever played in the NBA, and hes been there since he was 19. He’s been a consistent scorer of the basketball, putting up around 20 ppg for the last 5+ years. And last year gave them over 6 boards and 5 dimes too. He knows how to score in the half court as initiator with the ball in his hands, and off the ball.

It wouldnt be an awful idea to bring him off the bench like Manu used to back in the day for SA. But Id rather use Quick in that role since he’s done it before…

Its clear the trade combos are:

RJ + Poeltl + future pick(s) OR IQ + Ochai + future pick(s) for star

I think they don't believe they can come to terms with RJ and will trade him as a sweetener in a deal to dump Poeltl and get a disgruntled star.

I might consider doing something like this but insist on swapping out the 2026 first for an unprotected 2027 first (bad draft apparently), swap in 28' and that Lakers second. If we're in a bidding war I might do a top 14 protected 29' pick instead of the the LAL 2026 second

Trey Murphy is the most overrated player in the league.

He’s good can shoot and somewhat defend but people value him like a star and that’s just not true
