No way Jay gets fired. It was his first real tournament with the team. He's also very tight with Steve Nash. We'll see after next summer. no qualifying for Rio is not acceptable... I was planning on going to some of the games

He's the best coach there is that I know is available. Only other coach that I hear from people at CB that's better is Mike MacKay but I don't think he coaches anymore.

I hear Rick Pitino just stepped down as Puerto Rico's coach...

I don't know much about CB's coaching pipeline, but what about Roy Rana? Or would it be that bad to bring on an American coach like Mike Malone (since he was an assistant before)? Just no more Triano; he's not a strong enough personality.

Trust me, while I admire Rana since I'm currently working with Ryerson even though he's on a sabbatical leave atm and would never say anything bad about him, and maybe Hasan can chime in here if he still posts, but I don't think he's as good as Triano.

This x 1000000000.

And what do we gain from winning the bronze medal game? Why would any of the NBA guys want to risk injury to play in a meaningless game?

Why do people love blaming coaches so much? It's insane.

They shouldn't.

With the way that FIBA changed the qualifying process, the NBA players that Canada has might as well just ditch FIBA altogether.

These corrupt **** at FIBA thought they are hot **** and that the bigger market draw should accommodate to their farce of an organization, well let them see what happens when FIBA competition goes back to the pre Dream team days.

Lots of people to blame in this one. Triano is one of them.

I'm sure you can get a respected college coach or otherwise. Other teams do it all the time, you don't have to have someone from Canada.

Like I said, I work for CB on their women's team and I know for a fact they would never hire someone that isn't Canadian.

I agree with you it's a hard decision for Nash to make because he has established a very personal connection with Jay. But many will agree that it is the wrong move. Either way, I hope I'm wrong but I seriously doubt we qualify for the 2016 Olympics at this point. With the change in FIBA qualifying rules, it's going to be very hard for us to establish chemistry and have all of our players grow together.

Soft. Just like against Argentina on Day 1.

Dumb  . Even Venezuela's crazy coach is from Argentina. The United States soccer team is coached by a German. There's a pretty good basketball country with a huge pool of talented coaches just south of Canada. Triano can move back to his familiar assistant role.

After watching this game, Triano should have walked to center court and waved a big P into the air. A bogus game.

I don't want to discredit you at all. I get it. I feel like a teenage girl during a rough hormonal stretch on her period, just overwhelmed with emotion.

I want to scream, yell, cry, laugh, talk it out with someone, cry, yell.

Well most of the players obviously played like crap, but Triano still decides who's on the floor and when they're on the floor. I thought he made some poor choices.

Young team. First time this group has played together in high stakes basketball. Nash is building a good program.

We will be a force to be reckoned with in 2020.
