And why was he dribbling?

Maybe because COJO was in foul trouble and Scrubb was being denied the ball and there was no secondary ball hadler?

Murray-CoJo starting backcourt coming right up.

That performance speaks for itself. A simple choke job plain and simple.

Just prior to the Olympic games in 2016, there will be a qualifying tournament comprised of 18 total teams that have not qualified yet. Top 3 teams from this tournament make it to the Olympics. It will be made out of 5 teams from Europe, 3 from the Americas (Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico/Argentina), 3 from Africa (Senegal, Tunisia, Angola), 3 from Asia, 1 from Oceania (New Zealand), and 3 host teams.

Do we play 10 games in 12 days?

what is a coach's role?
motivation? an understandably young nervous team, played like a young and nervous team. he didnt calm them, he didnt inspire them, they played their worst in the most important game of the year
strategy? besides kelly being the pg, the man actually took andrew wiggins off the court for aaron doornekamp as a defensive substitution. that actually happened. i know wiggins wasnt playing well, but that defensive substitution happened. for real.
working the refs? one coach worked them so hard they actually physically muzzled him, and he ended up getting one of the most outlandish call i can ever recall seeing. the other, not so much.
playing to your strengths? we just failed to qualify for the olympics with arguably the best team in the tournament against, well, not.

i hated leo cause he lost with inadequate players cause his ego forced so many off the team. triano just lost with nearly a full lineup. there's lots to blame, but only one is as easily replaced and he certainly deserves to be. but with him and nash and barrett running things itll never happen

Also, because that is one of his strengths as a 7 footer and it worked on a couple of occasions, he basically had his opponent on his heels the whole time during this game. Kelly was easily our best player this game and doesn't deserve the blame.

Him and Nicholson are the only people that shouldn't be pelted with rotting food upon their arrival back in Canada.

I don't think anybody is blaming KO, but the coaching staff's decision to only select 2 PGs and a bunch of bigs which the discussion was about prior to the game. If Canada had another PG they wouldn't have been forced to have KO bring the ball up.

That is Triano for ya. He is plain and simple not a good coach; the FIBA stream broadcasted his huddle and he was laughable during it. The guy had absolutely no composure.

For those who lived through the Raptors dark days under him, this kind of performance came as no surprise at all.

I'm not one to usually blame the coach first....

But subbing in DOORNEKAMP for Andrew Wiggins on a crucial late-game defensive possession was downright hilarious.

This game was a must-win in every sense of the word and they blew it. Let's hope they learn from this because the next qualifying tournament is going to be MUCH more difficult.

Not to mention benching Stauskas (arguably their best player all tournament) for much of the game. Triano is just as bad as ever.

It will most likely be organized into groups and advance from there. I doubt we will play every single team like in the Americas. According to wiki it will run from July 5-11, so yes most likely we will have to play a lot of games in a row but I couldn't find an official source.

Damn that is going to be a tough field. Argentina is capable of beating Canada as we have seen. Senegal I have watched a lot, they should not be able to hang but Gorgui Dieng plays like a man possessed on that team and I would not be shocked to see them pull a Venezuela. The Euro teams could be total nightmares depending on who they are. The good news is Wiggins should be significantly better having another season as the go to guy on the wolves but the end of the day make no mistake about it, Canada dun goofed in this thing.

This is exactly why Lebron wanted NOTHING to do with Wiggins and Bennett and got rid of them ASAP...

The best thing for that soft passive overrated pansy known as Wiggins is KG and Smitch kicking his ass all year.
To bad you cant teach IQ because Wiggins has the brain of a gerbil.

No. They are not. They still have a chance next year (July) to qualify but it's going to be much harder now because there will be 18 countries (Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe) and only 3 will qualify out of those. This FIBA Americas was the easiest way to reach the Olympics but they f*** it up big time.

Reffing was unbalanced. They call phantom fouls on wiggins and let the other team manhandle us. Felt like NBA-level corruption.
