I can't believe BC is considering getting Kwame Brown for the MLE, he is a complete bust.

I can't believe BC is considering getting Ryan Gomes for the MLE, he can't play defense.

I can't believe BC is considering JJ Redick for the MLE, he's too unathletic.

I can't believe BC is considering Matt Barnes for the MLE, he's already 30.

I can't believe BC is considering Ronnie Brewer for the MLE, he's redundant with DD and Weems.

Due to my baseless specualtion I'm disappointed in BC because he's targeting guys we don't need.

I like our core but I'm with HP on this for the first time in a long time and even if you're more optimistic than I am that one of DD, ED and AB are top 20 NBA talents someday I don't see why so many of you wouldn't want a crack at another in the draft.

As I said, I really, really like our core at the moment. I like Derozan a lot. I still have no idea how good he can/will be but I see signs of him becoming a Richard Jefferson-esque player down the raoad. And that's me being optimistic.

I think Ed Davis has Joakim Noah/Horford potential to be a very important piece on a team in the future without requiring a ton of touches. I also like that because he's presumably going to become a high energy, high quality role player along the lines of those two players... he won't be commanding max money the way Bosh does. A 20/10/1.5blk PF wants max money. A 10/10/1.5 guy gets closer to fair market value and can be built around more easily. And that's me being optimistic.

I like Andrea Bargnani more than most. We all know he's unique; most see that as a bad thing. I still think he can be useful on a well-built team because of his offensive talent. I also think he has the ability to become a better defender and rebounder due to his lack of experience playing the center position in basketball. He was thrown into the fire at a new position in the NBA and he's done pretty well. I think he will continue to improve and that's me being optimistic.

I like Amir Johnson a lot. I think he's the perfect high energy, long, hard-working big most good teams need coming off the bench. I'm happy he'll be around for a while as we continue to add pieces to this young team.

I'm optimistic but even the optimist in me believes that even if our players continue to grow in dramatic ways they're still lacking a superstar guard who can slash/create and put opponents in foul trouble and I see no reason why we shouldn't "tank" (tank to me means heavily featuring our youngest players for more than 30+ minutes per game) for at least one season and hope for an elite level wing prospect.

Derozan isn't going to quit on this team after two losing seasons, especially if he's heavily featured. Ed Davis will be a rookie and he won't care about losing either if he's playing a lot. AB is committed to this team long-term and he won't be demanding any trades. Amir Johnson won't either. THIS IS THE YEAR TO TANK. NONE OF OUR CORE PLAYERS WILL BE DEMANDING TRADES IF WE SUCK AND IT WILL ONLY GET HARDER TO TANK AFTER THIS YEAR BECAUSE OUR YOUNG CORE WILL WANT TO WIN MORE AND MORE AS THE YEARS ROLL ON.

As good as this core "might be" we still could use more talent. Every team can. This is the year to tank.

Dorell Wright and Travis Outlaw are very versatile wings with athleticism and range. I see much potential and hopes BC picks up one of those guys especially wright.

I don't mind Ryan Gomes. He can play. I just hope his contract isn't too long. No more than 3 years.

WHYYY??? Who else is going to give him that money? Why is BC constantly bidding against himself? He might as well just sign and trade Bosh for Beasley.

It sounds like something stupid BC would do, but there's no reason to up the panac level yet. This isn't a new report. They're citing the ESPN article from yesterday where Doug Smith was quoted as the source.

I wrote this yesterday on page 3 of this thread:

I think all signs point to Ryan Gomes

- We need a backup SF at the very least and if we trade Turkoglu we'll need more than that.
- They like Gomes already.
- Colangelo LOVES guys who can play multiple positions and he'll be selling us on the fact that Gomes can occasionally fill in a bit at the PF spot and be a utility guy for us sort of like how Diaw was for him in the past.
- Gomes is a quality guy.
- He's a solid rebounder for the position which is something we could use.
- He's a hard worker on defence so Triano will have no problems about him.
- He lived and played in cold weather climates most of his life, growing up in Connecticut, going to school at Providence, playing in Boston and then most recently in Minnesota.
- Basically entering his prime years in the NBA so his productivity, presumably, will be at its best over the next few years and will then trail off in his early thirties as he takes on more and more of a bench role.

I think it will be Gomes.

So if this is true, does that mean we're not trading Bosh for Beasley?

If we do in fact ship Bosh for Beasley, then Turk has to be moved. I wouldn't mind a Beasley/Gomes/Weems SF rotation given that Weems comes off the bench primarily at the SG position.
