Q: Tim, BC isn't here in a public way to welcome Masai. What about the public optics to that and does it feed into what people are saying, it's a bad position to put Masai and Bryan in? Secondly, can you separate fact and fiction for the Raptors rebrand? Are we looking at a new name?

A: Bryan and Masai spent time this morning. Bryan's here. This was not meant to send a message. I know there's a lot of controversy about our reporting structure, but there's no confusion from within. It's simple. Masai is GM and pres of bball operations. Bryan is going to be president of team and business ops for the Raptors. There's a whole list of things Bryan is going to lead the charge on to grow this organization. Someone with his knowledge, experience and relationships in the NBA and Canada Basketball, you don't throw that out. So he's not only going to lead the charge on a lot of initiatives including branding, but he'll be there to advise and give input when Masai asks for it. But I've been involved for four or five days with Masai on working through his staff and his hires, and there's never been any confusion. There's never been any misdirection. THat is more talk and speculation. I can tell you the reality of the situation is we have one guy who's in charge of basketball that's making all the decisions, and he will lead the charge. On BC's side, he has a scope of activity, and we have defined that and he knows where we're going.

Q: Did you ask Bryan to be here? Wouldn't it have been a nice look?

A: Nope. This is about Masai.

Q: What about rebranding?

A: We're definitely going to take a look at it. It doesn't mean wer'e committed to it, but it's a good conversation. I saw the generic uniform in teh paper. That won't be the uniform, by the way. I think we need to have this conversation. We need to have it with Masai, BC, the owners. We have to honour the traition and history of what the Raptors are but we also need to hear the fans. We have a very important anniversary coming up, and we have some events we want to win. And that'll be part of what we do to celebrate our 20th anniversary. we're committed to changing the culture here, on and off the court.
