Masai and co. dont care about winning the press conferences they just want the results on the court.

Nurse is going to change a lot of things. Speaking with Bob McCowan, we are going to be a high paced team, with 3's and lots of movement especially off the ball.

We found our Brad Stevens.

It was music to my ears when he said they want to be creative and try things that are out of the box. Obviously things may not work out with each idea but im glad they will try. Very different from Casey's philosophies of just sticking with the same things regardless if it works or not.

MLSE lost 2 old farts in Casey and Lou and replaced them with young bright minds in Nurse and Dubas

Biyombo was awesome for 3 million. Biyombo sucks for 17 million. FVV is the same. We don't need him at a high cost.

Biyombo was only ever good under Casey's "much garbage-man centre" defensive system and playing next to two All-Stars who could hide the fact that he was a total offensive liability. Centre version of Marcus Smart. I kind of miss Biyombo, but he's been garbage everywhere else he's been.

FVV is not Biyombo. FVV elevates the team on both ends of the floor, mostly on offense. Give this man his money.

What are you talking about, Biyombo was the same player this year. The same principle applies that you can overpay a bench player, whether you want to admit it or not.

What the hell are YOU talking about? Biyombo doesn't have anywhere near the same impact in Orlando that he did in Toronto. Not all bench players are cut from the same cloth.

I'm just going to assume its too hard for you to understand my point or the concept of seeing how much he wants before making a decision so we don't overpay a backup point guard.

The scrum and other interviews have been more informative than the presser. He's done a good job explaining how he will do things differently without being critical of Casey.

You can tell he has a lot of ideas that Casey didn't implement or fully implement. I love that most of his talk has been about defense. A lot about putting guys in the right spot where they can be successful....and keeping them there. I got a sense that is something Casey did not do in his mind.

He caught my attention in the scrum when he said along the lines of "a bit more iq" on the court. Wondering what that means....

I think we are in for some pretty interesting changes.

Fred has proven this season that he's worth about the $9 million per year that he's going to get. Not the same situation as Biyombo. I'm not sure why this upsets you so much.

I’m ok with Bob. He at least tries to talk about basketball even though he’s not that connected with what’s going on every day. Now his current partner Richard Deitsch is new to Canada so he does know more and genuinely cares more about the Raptors just bc he’s kinda clueless about hockey. I’m glad Jeff Blair is not partnered with Bob and I hate it when Jeff Blair replaces Bob when Bob is on vacation. Jeff is so opinionated that sometimes gives a racist vibe to him even though he doesn’t mean it but he just doesn’t have a clue about the NBA.

The Good Show is fine bc you got younger guys like JD Bunkis doing it that is actually an NBA fan. I hate everyone else and those guys on TSN too bc those guys are such puckheads and for some reason love the CFL too and think their listeners care.

Was this Masai who said that?

It was Nurse on Prime Time Sports.

It was basically a throw away line after he said he had met with Lowry this week and listed a lot of how he would be used going forward and important he would be. The he said he would be in LA very soon to meet with Demar. His comment about Demar did'nt come across as all that positive.

Yeah, DeMar doesn't seem to fit that type of offence (or defence) that Nurse is describing.

No wonder Masai looks so upset. Nick Nurse might demand to trade his first born son DeRozan for players that actually fit the offensive scheme. Oh the horror!

I read into it that DeMar should either be traded or he needs to change more of his game. We did see more threes and more assists but what was glaringly missing was he doesn’t play uptempo. He never pushes the ball up and always lets the defence set before making his decisions. Was so frustrating to watch. Kyle was the total opposite. That’s why Nurse loves him so much and I’m sure his meeting recently with Kyle in Toronto when really well. I can’t wait to see Kyle’s scoring average to be back in the 20s and assists to go up while keeping his TS% high. In all of Nurses interviews he has always referred to Kyle first when talking about his team’s “stars”

Maybe I'm frustrated because you're not getting it and still arguing. And he's not just entitled to 9 million. Only the first year is the current MLE (or first two, can't recall). The Gilbert Arenas Rule applies. His max is 4/70 or something around there if someone wants to sign him to that as an RFA.
