I've always liked him and will continue rooting for him. Letting him play through his mistakes and grow his confidence is starting to pay off, hope he stays consistent. Big 3's, amazing D tonight. He's also shooting 50% on the year on 3's which is great.

Yup he more then held his own guarding kyrie tonight.
I can see how an emerging talent could grow from an effort like tonights.

Good to see back to back solid performances from General Flynn. I'll park my hate for now.

Flynn showed something tonight. Would be totally glad to have been wrong on him but I'm gonna keep my expectations low for now.

getting better every game slowly.. Nurse would have never played him ever again after the first few games.. Darko has patients and seems to fix these guys.. He's doing well in that aspect.

Same here. I would love for him to prove me wrong. Hearing Darko's postgame, Malachi isn't going anywhere. He seems to really like him.
He was awesome tonight.

Re: Malachi ain't it...
He came into the league as a pick and roll PG and Nurse tried to turn him into FVV as a chucking combo guard. He got very confused.
I notice this season he's playing more of a Dennis Schroder style of game where he slows it down and just tries to set up plays. So far he hadn't been looking for his offense but now he's picking his spots.
I am so happy we let go of the people we let go. This was much needed, and we can finally see Flynn try to use his guard skills more effectively. He just doesn't thrive in chaos which is how they were trying to have him play.

Based on tonight, I would say Flynn has basically lost permission to run pick and rolls and his job will be to play defence and hit some 3s off of kick outs. Which is fine. It puts a toll on Barnes and Siakam offensively, but as long as we have Trent as a 2nd option and an offensively useful player (Boucher, Porter Jr, sometimes Precious) at the 5 we're okay. Not sure Flynn and Koloko on the court together will be playable, though.
Where's the D?

Loved it when he clapped at Kyrie's face even though he got burned afterwards. He's improving game by game and he's going to get better and better. The pick and roll game, his floater, ad the pull up are all in his game he just needs to show it.

Even though Kyrie scored on that play I thought Flynn still did a decent job of staying with him and contesting, Kyrie just hit a tough shot. The biggest takeaway is that he seems to be getting more confident game by game.

Flynn's defense on Kyrie looked perfect on that fadeaway. Can't help that he's of average athleticism (at best) and short. He made Kyrie earn it.
