It is simply the most maddening thing. At least have post-workout interviews. This team must have been burned in the past and missed out on a prospect because of a leak. Or, they just don't have any vision for storytelling or save it all for Open Gym.

Look how good this simple video from the Wizards is:

Black is a tier above Wallace and at least 2 tiers above NSJ. If Black is there and Washington passes they cannot be saved.

I think they are pretty different players. Really tough to see Black become more than a good role player with his poor shooting. For the Raptors, I think Black is a bad fit, I would prefer more shooting. For a team with a lot of shooting, Black is probably a better bet, but at least when I watch these guys, either looks to be such a good player that skill is more important than fit.

Your fit reasoning is why I like Jalen Hood-Schifino for Toronto. He has the size of Black, maybe as good passing ability, plus he can shoot it from mid range and three at a decent clip. Black is probably more athletic and a more committed defender, but JHS does everything pretty well and at around 210 lbs he is a ready to mix it up in the NBA tomorrow. Same with Cason for that matter although he is smaller and lighter so I don't expect him to guard up positions like JHS will.

Nick Smith Jr. is just the guy I have been following longer and thought he was going to be a top pick, so I think I have a sentimental attachment to him because I think he has shown to be better than he was at Arkansas. It is always hard to say which version is the true one, but I do think injuries took him out of the rotation and he never completely found his stride.

He either shoots 3's or goes all the way to the hole mostly which is another indication of how far behind he is. The guy is a perfect candidate to replace Anunoby down the line as an SF who lives on the baseline although he has shown flashes from the top of the arc there is no guarantee he will be a SG but if we want OG here long term he makes zero sense despite posters saying "there is room for him on the bench".

Drafting him or Leonard Miller only makes sense to me if we’re moving Siakam for Scoot.

Plus 1.

Agreed. I like Jalen Hood-Schifino more than some of the crap projected to go in our range.

Someone in the media should ask why they don't do draft interviews anymore.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Wizards have a new GM hiring Will Dawkins from the Thunder. Would not be surprised that things improve substantially with better management. They also have a new president, too. So this is all new territory for them.

And if they take NSJ at 8, they should resign

Okay, got it. You don't like NSJ. For the Wizards, I also hope they finally explore moving on from Beal. To find a pick to work with Beal has long been their target, and at this stage they should be relooking at their bigger picture.

Honestly, I am just happy these guys are playing against each other. Nick mentioned doing a workouts in LA>Tor>LA>Wash so it sounds like their workout season has really picked up. We are finally back to non-Covid times.

I might collapse to my knees in agony if we take Leonard Miller.

I think he’s going to be a solid pro with a long career but I can’t stomach another tween big man on this roster.

Seems as though he got a promise.

I reckon it's Washington or Raptors.

Well the thing is there is a lot of crap or let's say fringey starter types. All these draft boards have these combo guards listed where we pick and none wow me as guys we need to draft because they either can't shoot (Black), can't drive (Wallace/JHS) or can't pass or run the offense (George). Maybe Bufkin and NSJ are better than the rest, but the margins are small and maybe even a case of people's subjective opinions.

I get more excited about the starting prospects of Derek Lively or some of the French wings over the PG prospects, but these players don't help Toronto as currently constructed.

Personally, if we can't trade up for Scoot or Amen, I'd pass on the next tier of PGs. I like the upside of Max Lewis and Rayan Rupert but in both cases we probably could stand to shed the 13 pick and drafts these guys later.

Wallace at #13 would be quite the get. Still don't see him lasting that long. He's better than a lot of the guys ranked ahead of him.

Possibly a Toronto promise to Wallace or Washington even earlier.

Lively is one guy that makes me worry about potentially not selecting BPA. Like I want to think that I like some of the other non-C prospects ahead of him purely based on merit, but can't help feeling like there is a bias I have because of Yak and our terrible guard situation that kind of makes me discount him as a prospect.

PGs and C's will continue to slip in the draft throughout the years, unless the PG is like 6'6 & a team has a hole at C and the C projects as a #1 pick.

PGs n C's look to fill those holes in the top half of the lottery
