If Masai and Bobby doesn't pull a Rocket's $40mil for FVV kinda move right now, I don't know when else. Anyone but Barnes with a bunch of picks and swaps, OG+GTJ+ fillers + bunch of picks just to overwhelm the other offers. FVV did not give us the courtesy so I don't see why Portland would if the offer is just overwhelmingly better.

Nah lol Lillard will not be a Raptor.....Hes going to the Heat for a deal sim to Beal to Suns....Lillard did ALOT and was very Loyal and loved in the city of Portland ....Hes beloved there....They want to move on from Lillard and will let Lillard choose his landing spot...

Lillard is not picking the Raptors so he will not get traded here..

Yeah, the Blazers will get the best deal. I know everyone is listening to the new kid saying it's the heat, but the heat have a poo poo platter compared to ours and other deals. One thing not being discussed here is that the Blazers gave J Grant 160 million to try and win, and Dame still said he wanted to leave. That gives the Blazers leverage to say, look we tried to win, and and Dame still wanted to go....we need to get the best package for our team.

Even after that are you telling me the Blazers will feel obligated to trade Dame to where he wants to go?

We should definitely not trade assets to pay 33-36 year old Dame 4/211 (63 mill the year he turns 36). He's great, but not the direction we should pursue imo

You're talking about courtesy. But if Raptors put forth an overwhelming offer and Blazer's Front office refuse and goes with the Heat package, that idiotic. Dame doesn't have a no trade clause like Beal. I'm not saying Portland will accept, but I'm saying this is the time for Masai to go all in with an overwhelming offer.

Is it weird we’re not one of the rumoured destinations? I was told not tanking would put us in prime position for these moves.

Grant was going to be resigned no matter what for asset management, so that doesn't show anything about putting a team around Dame, since there was nothing the Blazers could do to make a contender in Dames time left anyways. That said, the Grant contract can't be signed yet till the 6th so there is a strong possibility it can be turned into a S&T for the team to bring back younger assets to add to their young duo of Scoot and Sharpe.

What do yo consider overwhelming that leaves the Raptors a contender with Lillard?

Um, Woj has confirmed what a few of us have been saying all day. Blazers are getting the best package.

Because we have a number of very good players, but no superstars, we are in the best position because if we trade any combination of OG, Scottie, or GTJ, we can trade for Dame and still have a big 3 with Dame as number 1. This is Masai's design.

Other teams have superstars and crap players. So unless they trade one of their superstars/ stars, they won't get Dame. If they do trade for Dame they won't have enough to be good when Dame is added.

Couldn't disagree more... This team is not magically going from play-in to championship contender by replacing FVV, Barnes ++ for 33yr old Dame... Let's be real.

if you trade 2 of OG/Scottie/GTJ you are simply not a contender.

I have always been high on Dame. But Dame/Pascal and what is left would not be a contender. That a 2nd round max team in the East. 1st round exit in West depending on matchup.

Edit: also PDX would look for more valuable picks than a player they have to overpay right now in trades.
