People love to give the FO credit for the Barnes pick, but bare in mind we were slated to draft 8th - we just got insanely lucky with the lottery balls.

The same people who deride tanking because "There's no guarantee of where you will pick".

Both your logics are not logicing.

Even if that were remotely true, that's absolutely insane.

Maybe our front office is waiting for better offers next summer? Sure worked out well for us last time.

I'm really not bothered. It would have been fun to watch Lillard this year. But I was never convinced it was the right move at this time.

Got him a competent center several years after forcing him to play with the likes of the dead corpse of Gasol & Bonafide Bum Baynes.

Refused to get him another star player to take some of the pressure off him. Hence, why he remains one of the league leaders in double teams attracted.

Refused to get him a playmaker that can set him up.

Giannis complained and basically threatened the Bucks organization and the FO acted fast and got him Dame.
Siakam is too quiet for his own good.

A #2 option making noise is not the same as a top 3 player in the league complaining.

Your comparison is bad.

I still don't think they beat the Nuggets. Definitely a punchers chance, and easily favourites in the east now.

I think they do. The gap between Dame and Murray is pretty big.

Healthy I take a combo of Jokic and Murray over Giannis and Dame. But I won't argue others thinking that is the other way around, it's not a big enough gap either way. Now the rest of the team, I think the Nuggets have it better.

Realistically this team should be a solid play-in/first round exit and then we'll have the 10th pick that will then be owed to the Spurs.

Can't wait for the season!

Grayson Allen and the 2029 1st rounder were in this trade.

You know how we could have clearly beat the Bucks offer?

By trading Fred for that at last year's deadline and put it in the Same deal.

Sliding doors my friends... one of the worst trade deadlines we've ever had keeps on delivering.

What makes you think this kind of deal was ever on the table? Who was paying this much for a rental? FVV had 2 offers in FA, one from us and one from Houston. Even he thought he was coming back until Houston broke the bank open on a contract nobody thought he would get.

Funny how we turned down FVV for Grayson Allen + 1st at the deadline. Bucks wouldn't have been able to trade for Lillard and we could have packaged Allen instead. Trade deadline was a major fail.

Bucks are going to be something this year. Who you gonna double-team, Dame or Giannis?!

But not surprised Raps didn't get Dame. When have the rumour mills ever been right about our plans?

Or more realistically, they assessed that this team lacks the assets to build around a Dame led team. Our cupboards are bare, have been for a hot minute.

I don't think this is a "MU values OG more than Dame" situation.

To clarify my post here:

Trade Fred at last season's deadline for that package.

This year the Bucks don't have those assets to put in the Dame trade, and we do.

Our lowball Trent offer has more disposable picks in it and the Bucks offer is hampered with pick inflexibility, knocking them out as a destination. Likely clearing the Heat offer too with minimal impact to our core.

Which 2029 first rounder are you referring to ?

Grayson was not traded with a 1st rounder.

The Bucks traded their 2029 1st and 2 swaps in the Dame deal.

That deal isn't possible if the Bucks traded us the 2029 pick at last year's deadline for Fred, as rumoured. It makes the asset package much more complicated the same way our 2024 pick trade makes it for us.

So how does Masai pick up the shambles & now pretend like he cares about OG or Pascal as they plan their escape next season?!

If he loses them for nothing it's utterly inexcusable, f*ck being evaluated, there is no GM in the league that would survive the squandering that will have happened in what would be a 5 year span like he would have. You would essentially lost almost your entire championship squad for next to nothing when you had AMPLE opportunity, that's a fireable offense.

It's obvious at this point, look at the return. Masai could have beat it if he wanted to. We just didn't want to do the deal. It is what it is.

Could we though?

Jrue has value - they will get more.
2028/2029/2030 1sts from a MIL team. Giannis will be 34 (and expires in 2027), Middleton will be 37, Dame 38, and MIL does not have any trade-able firsts until the 2030's.

Those are crazy good picks to have

Ok but was the Bucks 2029 1st available for FVV?

Or are you saying at the deadline we should have somehow had the foresight to trade for the Bucks picks to block them from trading for Dame? What salary was MIL giving up to obtain FVV AND give up picks?

Come on man
