If Barbosa does opt out of his contract for next season (like it's rumored he might), we will actually have some money to play around with.

I hope its Jordan.

Chandler's aging and I rather have Jordan grow with us.

If Val doesn't come over right away he won't count against the cap right?

Maybe the Raps need all the cap space they can get to lure this Center FA their targeting.

God...if we end up with Gasol I am moving out of Toronto. I realize he's good but I just HATE the kind of basketball Colengelo wants to play, I hate the identity of this team.

I don't get it....why not give our future C minutes? If were playing the free agency for now....why draft for the future?

I am definitely a little confused when he said this. So we just drafted a center and he said we're going hard at a FA C who they'll probably throw at least 5 years. It looks like one of Ed or Amir is gone.

I am sick of Colangelo and his used car salesmen charm.
So let it be said. So let it be done. Book it and tag this post

I hope we fall flat on our face with Free Agency (like last year) and get nobody.

We need that top-5 pick next year. It's our turn to win the draft now that Cleveland and Washington won it.

From Larry Coon:

The "scale" amount for the team's unsigned first round draft pick(s) when the player signs with a non-NBA team. The scale amount is excluded from the team salary on the date he signs a non-NBA contract or the first day of the regular season, whichever is later. The scale amount goes back onto the team salary on the following July 1 or when his non-NBA contract ends, whichever is earlier. In other words, these cap holds are removed for players playing elsewhere during the regular season only.

I hope we get Gasol. BC also better be trading for Brandon Knight or some other point guard because our team is hopeless.

Smokescreen go after a SF that can shoot 3's and trade Bargs.

I think it's crucial we get a vet C to ease Jonas into the transition. We can't just expect him to play 25 minutes a game immediately. Ideally we get someone that's experienced and capable to holding the fort down for a couple of years and mentor Jonas along the way. Not sure if any specific names fit into my description though.

bpa and saves room in salary. good stuff.

maybe they got word that Barbo is opting out as well, could have like 15 million in capspace.

Let's not and continue to tank/rebuild instead.

FFS, can we please not give up any young assets just to get some crappy vets?

If by "vet C", you mean someone with 5+ years in the league.

And perhaps someone who also came from Europe and had to transition.

You'll get your wish.

I wouldn't be happy if we:

Throw 13mil to steal Marc Gasol. He simply doesn't worth it!

Throw 10mil to steal DeAndre Jordan. He would likely turn into a big bust for that money!

Chandler won't come unless the next CBA is a hard cap.

Nene won't come, his price is too high.

I think we are targetting....Saer Sene @ minimum....
