I think we are still 5-7 years away from being very competitive.

From 2011-2013, we would have six (based on draft express projections) including four first rounders. Add Wiggins on the back end. How many other countries had six draftees over three years, with four first rounders? Its very bright, but the problem is the lack of support this group will get from its elders/

Two problems I see:

1) Lost Half-Generation - Between Jamaal Magloire in 1998 and Andy Rautins in 2010 how many Canadians got drafted in the NBA. I'm sure there may have been a few, but off the top of my head I can't think of any. There was Samuel Dalembert who after getting drafted went through the process of becoming a Canuck. But the point is there was an 11 year period, the players who would now be at peak or veterans which the well was absolutely dry.

2) As we have a "lost generation" of sorts, we lack depth for the next five years. We need full participation of all our players which is difficult to accomplish.

Olynyk is redshirting for two main reasons: 1. Logjam at the c and pf spots, he would have been behind Sacre, Harris and Dower, so now next year and his senior year he can start and log major minutes and 2. His whole lfe he's been a 2,3, but he's now a legit 7'0 240lbs, so he's gonna spend the whole season honing his post moves. The guys got a ton of skill, if he can put it all together, he'll be in the NBA.

I don't care enough to actually go through the list of players. I am only doing the ones I know.

Thank you for the addition though.

Not criticizing just keeping you up to date so no one is left out. This is my favourite yearly thread and I truly appreciate the work you do.

Interesting quote in an article about Kris Joseph. I think it's nonsense, but perception is everything sometimes.

The NBA scout, speaking on condition of anonymity, acknowledged the bias. When he and his peers evaluate Canadian players, he said, they carry with them a certain “built-in prejudice.” The Canadians are polite young men, the type of guys who will never embarrass themselves or their teammates, or tumble into scandal or disgrace.

But those same qualities of kindness cause basketball concern. Can those same benign souls transform into aggressive, calculating basketball players? Can those same Canadian kids be “as tough as the kids from the projects of Philly, the mean streets of Baltimore,” one scout wondered aloud.

I'd like him to explain how a spoiled rich kid like Kobe developed a killer instinct comparable to Jordan's.

What a silly article, how many top US college prospects have the back rounds that the author purports?

ncaa still has to review his late transfer. i think he reclassified too so that could be part of it. either way ncaa hasnt cleared him yet. new mexico state also has like 5 more guys than scholarships so its plausible he could be redshirted.

Not sure if anyone posted this, but here's a link for Texas vs Boston University, Myck Kabango's debut!

http://espn.go.com/longhornnetwork/

they'll replay it at 12am EST, just saying.
