Wait, you're just getting it now that decertification was only rhetoric? Oh dear.

LOL, trust me, I knew it wasn't an option, haven't you read my posts?
Anyway, I thought you and Floppymoose were pushing the decertification option, what changed?

I always said decert was rhetoric to boost their position, not a real threat.
Still think the system is going to be radically different? You seemed to the other day.

Just heard from 3 people who are, as we say, directly involved in talks. "Not true...long, long list of things to go." "He is wrong." "No."
They might have agreed on a few things but as to a final agreement I think not. Checkett jumped the gun.

If they agreed to BRI% then it's all but over. Whether it's done today or tomorrow or the next day, they're just hammering out the details.

Honestly, if the players have given up I'm going for the jugular if I'm an owner. They won't get to change **** for 10 years, go for sweeping changes now.
Give the players the 50% but make some serious changes to the system.

I didn't say no contact was allowed. I said the defender couldn't initiate contact.

Not asking what you'd do. Asking if you still think they will. You seemed to think they were unwilling to settle for just a favorable BRI split, and that the majority of owners were super serious about system issues.

@sam_amick: Players' side source in the room says of alleged agreement, "Not at all (true). We have yet to discuss our positions at all."

As much as I wanted to see the owners' get a hard cap, I'd much rather watch basketball ASAP. I'm losing my mind with all these god d*** Reimer updates and constant Hockey talk on our crappy Canadian sports networks.
Really hoping things get settled tonight.

Props to Brunoskull for the sig.

I think they're going for as much as they can. The players folded when they gave the owners 50% which tells me those 29 player reps basically said their guys want to play.
I'm pretty sure the owners smell blood and won't give up much more on the system, at least not on any of the key points. I actually think the deal will be even better than what SI's Mannix wrote yesterday when it's all said and done.
Since I believe the above, I don't think they will come to an agreement anytime soon, I still think this drags on for a while longer.

You mean kinda like Wilt did when he joined up with Baylor and West?
Didn't say it didn't happen.
But it's happening much more now and becoming the ONLY way to win.
This new CBA needs to make it a lot more costly to make moves like that.
When was the last time a FA signing put someone over the top to a championship?
