Im seeing why Colangelo has been adamant that will get a good player no matter where we
pick. I don't see a tier 1 or tier 2 or teir 3 in the top 12 players in this draft. There is no
Lebrons, Durants, Howards, or Griffins. There isn't much difference between the players
slated to go 1 and 2 then there is 9 and 10. Lots of parity of solid players to potential
All-Stars. Team needs will be a big part more then ever. Depending if we win the lottery
were a lock to finish in the 5-11 range. All the lottery teams have a need for SFs so
Barnes, MKG, Lamb, Jones etc are gonna be hard to come by the later we draft.

We could see ourselves in a Utah situation where even though we have a dire need at the Wings
the best players on the board could be PF's and you always take BPA. So if Sullinger, Robinson,
Moultre etcare the BPA on the board we have to take them. Hopefully guys like Drummond and Q. Miller decide to stay in the draft so it doesn't weaken the lottery to much but I have a bad
feeling about them.

I dunno why but I just can't wrap my mind around being excited about drafting MKG.

He just feels like GWallace to me which is solid but then we're just destined to be like the Hawks at best.....do not want....with our first pick that is.

I love MKG's game, and was clamouring for us to snatch him up before all the hype caught up to him, but I started asking myself if he will have the same physical advantage over players in the nba. I just don't see him being the same player in the nba. If he's the bpa at our pick, sure snatch him up, but I would rather grab lamb, beal or HB.

I noticed nbadraft.net doesn't have Quincy Miller on the 2012 class. Anyone know why? Is it because they don't think he'll declare this year? (Actually, I noticed he wasn't on the 2013 class either... What's up with that?)
For the record, this is not a knock on nbadraft.net, in fact, I always look at their rankings before comparing with other sites..

Drummond and Quincy Miller are heavily rumored to be going back for their sophomore seasons
im pretty sure they put Quincy in their 2013 mock. I agree about nbadraft.net last year they
called Derrick Williams beng a top 3 pick before Draft Express and Chad Ford around this time.
Draft Express didn't move Williams into the top 3 till around April. Looks like nbadraft.net is
doing the same with J-Lamb where Draft Express isn't into him as much.

Hope Lamb has a nice bounce-back game today against Seton Hall. I'd like to see Napier benched, at least Boatright looks for Drummond and I hate Lamb at the 3. But they're all starting.

Tomas Satoransky as a second round pick up

Yep - he's going to be a good one.

Beal, Lamb or Ross with the first pick.

Satoransky with the second pick.

PG - Bay, Sat
SG - Beal/Lamb/Ross, Derozan
SF - Chandler/Kirilenko, Kleiza, JJ
PF - Bargs, Davis, Amir
C - JV, Amir, Alabi ( :-) )

You have athletes all over the line-up. Shooting. Rebounding. Slashers. Size. Youth. Instant perennial play-off team. Not a championship team but I'll take that. Hell if Bay doesn't work out, bring in Jennings.

JamesNaismith wrote:All I can say is I hope that we're not just pondering it as fans but that Colangelo does in fact trade Ed Davis for another decent pick. I just care about the second one grabbing a guy like Beal, Rivers (yes even him) or Miller (if we grabbed Lamb).

But at this point I would even be happy with getting Rivers for Davis as he would essentially replace Barbosa for much less and his attitude would be welcomed in the Raptor franchise. Beal is still preferred cuz he's much more steady and consistent but I think River's attitude of playing with a chip on his shoulder would quickly become a fan favorite as I don't think he would back down and would probably salivate over the big match ups as well.

FA/Bayless (amnesty Jose)
Rivers (for Davis)/DeRozan
Barnes (our likely pick)/JJ/Kleiza
Bargnani/Amir
Valanciunas

Plus a TON of cap space....I shouldn't even say it cuz it's such a ridiculous pipe dream but imagin we grabbed Howard and Deron with that?!? They're too blinded by location but damn that imo would own the league....but still add a solid PG and back C and we'd still be one of the better young teams out there.

I don't think that Ed Davis will return much in terms of a decent pick in this draft. Every team in the league realizes how strong this draft class could be and it's stacked with power forwards, many of whom have the same or greater potential than Davis.

MKG is a better passer than Wallace, but that's about it

MKG is nothing but a role player, I don't want anymore lame Demar Derozan level players I want potential superstars who can change the franchise. Lamb/Drummond/Davis or we get into another long perpetual rebuild

if Waiters enters the draft, he might be in the lottery. Would like him on the Raps and with the way we're playing, he might be in range for us.

Isn't Satoransky more of a SG than a PG?

He's a nice player, but nothing more than an NBA 6th man imo.
