We would be insane not to try this, i'd rather take the lottery pick then blow cash on Wilson Chandler. We take on salary for a pick like Beal, NJ clears max cap space, Clippers get their big 2G.
Raptors Receive - Johan Petro + Farmar + 2012 Houston 1st
Nets Receive - Barbosa + Foye
Clippers Receive - Anthony Morrow
2012 Raps - we add Val, Beal, and Barnes, next year Farmar, Petro, and Calderon expire
Calderon - Farmar
DeRozen - Beal (Rockets pick via NJ) - Forbes
Barnes (2012 Raps pick - James Johnson - Kleiza
Bargs - Ed Davis
Val - Amir - Petro

I'd agree or a simple Barbosa for Petro+Farmer + 2012 HOU pick would do as well....right?

Agreed, we'd be so stupid though to sign Chandler when we can take on a little salary, get a late lotto and draft Beal / Austin Rivers / MKG / Perry Jones etc... whom probably have more upside then Chandler to begin with. If Howard is off the market the Nets are going to overpay anyone this summer. Lets facilitate them doing so!
I personally like Farmar as a backup PG, he is kind of a poor mans Calderon IMO

Is it plausible that Sacramento deals their 2012 1st if packaged with Salmons? And maybe even Milwaukee if packaged with Gooden? We take on HORRID contracts but Gooden is still extremely useful and Salmons could probably be bought out, waived or traded to a contender for a 2nd like Barbosa if God yells at him again.
Pick Gilchrist at our pick, Beal at Sacramento's and Lillard at Milwaukee's. Or use them to move higher and get Anthony Davis if possible.
Then trade players to reduce gluts.

I doubt you get The Kings to move their pick just to move Salmons, Salamons isn't even that bad for them he's actually decent and their only real SF right now. With this move The Kings get a lot worse all for what cap space? It's not like Sacramento is a hot bed for FA's to go to anyways they are the red headed step child in LA right now considering how good The Lakers and Clippers are and Golden State might have a chance to be better. Either way we are not getting their pick, Ed Davis + Amir Johnson or even DeRozan wouldn't get it done. As the team sits now they have Cousins/Thompson/Hayes up front and Thornton/Ferdette/Evans at the 2 so I just can't see them in a hurry to dump their pick.
With regards to The Bucks Gooden has been a surprise for me, he's still a bad deal but this year he's been actually decent considering Bogut was injured/now traded. If we are getting The Bucks pick best believe we are moving some sort of quaility piece for them. For both The Bucks and Kings they have the ability to amensty their respective bad deal and keep their pick which easily is the main reason they say no

Andres Nocioni, anyone think we should take a flyer on him for next season? That is after more significant players are signed and moved in. Maybe a 2 year filler deal? I havent seen the Sixers play but Nocioni had alot of game before then, wonder if he has declined or just hasent gotten the opportunity.

If Nets land the #1 pick, some think they would entertain trading it. I doubt that, but who knows, so...
Raptors trade: Bargnani, DD, and Ed Davis
Raptors Recieve: A. Davis and Petro
Jonas, (Davis/Amir), Petro
A. Davis, Amir, JJ/Kleiza
Barnes, JJ, Kleiza
FA?, Forbes
Bayless, Jose
The Raptors move forward with a line-up that could end up being elite on the defensive end. They probably don't make the playoffs next year, but with the shredded salary and improved young core, they probably give themselves a higher ceiling as a team.
Nets trade: A. Davis and Petro
Nets recieve: Monta and Bargnani
Lopez
Bargnani
Wallace
Monta, Morrow
Deron
+ Brooks
Nets give Deron two top tier scorers to play with Gerrald's defence on the wings. They might even consider packaging Lopez and Brooks for an upgrade at center.
Bucks trade: Monta Ellis
Bucks recieve: DD and Ed Davis
Bucks shed even more money, land a good buddy of Jennings' and add another young asset in Ed Davis.

Re: 2011-12 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread Pt IV
what about this? I only do this if we can get Quincy Miller. Id pick Barnes anyways even if this trade doesnt go through and id wait to make sure Miller is there to be picked.
To TOR: Curry + Biedrins + NJ Pick (Via HOU) (#13-#15 (Miller))
To GSW: Calderon + Petro + TOR Pick (Barnes #3-#4)
To NJ: Davis + J.Johnson
NJ unloads Petro while getting Davis & J.Johnson for their pick.
TOR moves down to get MIller while filling their PG hole
GSW gets Barnes since they were trying to trade Curry in the Bogut deal maybe they look at this.
Curry / Bayless
Derozan / SG (FA)
Miller / Kleiza
Bargnani / Amir
Val / Biedrins
Calderon / PG (FA)
Thompson / Wright
Barnes / Jefferson
Lee / PF (FA) / Tyler
Bogut / Petro
* i would workout a S&T with Wright heading to the Bobcats for Augustin. If they draft Davis they can use a SF.

the pick is top #14 protected though so we could hope for #15. Will he be there though? Maybe we dont include JJ to NJ and hope to move-up and grab him using JJ.

If you could get Derrick Favors for the 2012 pick; do you take it?

If the pick is number 1: no.
If the pick is 2-6 like we expect it to be...maybe. I guess it depends how much we like guys like Barnes and Gilchrist, but a Favors - Val frontcourt would be something to get excited about.

I like Steph Curry, but he isnt the type of player that wins titles. Just my opinion, PG needs to be a tough player, I dont see Curry as tough.

So am I. I like them both. Miller is extremely talented and I'd love him in a Raps jersey.
However, Curry's ankles are worrysome but at the same time, beggars can't be choosers. If the deal came up and Miller was available, I'd make the move.
As for right now though (since I doubt GS is willing to deal Curry) I'd hold on to our pick and move Ed + cash to a team for Miller. I think that's enough value both ways to get it done. DX has Miller as a mid-late first so I'd rather move a player from our glut of bigs than move the pick. I like Curry but his ankles are scary.

No way man. If I want a big with a pick from 2-6, I'd rather swing for the fences and shoot for greatness with Drummond. He's raw as hell but his potential is limitless and to me would be a better use than dealing it for Favors, who to me has been a bit underwhelming thus far.
And if we don't want Drummond, we also look at Beal and Barnes in that range or even look to move down for Lamb or something. Honestly there's only two young players I'd move the pick pick straight up for - James Harden and Paul George. That's about it. I think there's more potential in a Drummond-Val froncourt than Val-Favors. Maybe that's just me though.

Just a thought.... How much do you think it would cost to acquire James Harden should he be attainable? How much are we willing to pay (assuming we're interested)?
Presti is going to have a hard time build a contender with 3 max deals on the books so if anything he will sign and trade him immediately or sign him and look for possible deals later...I mean ultimately he could keep him but I don't see it realistically.
I'd love to do something like Bargnani + DeMar + 2013 1st (lotto protected) for Harden + Maynor in a S&T. Maynor isn't all that great but could be a good off the bench PG for us but the main piece in the deal would be Harden.

My unrealistic draft 2, sign 2, trade 2 offseason plan:
Draft: Davis, Kabongo
Sign: Nash, Allen
Trade: Bargnani, Jose ( Doesn't really matter what we get back, ideally picks and/or solid veteran bigs)
Nash/Kabongo
Allen/Bayless
Demar/JJ/Kleiza
Davis/Ed
Val/Amir/Gray

See I wouldn't do that. I would just rather Derozan work and get better. It just isn't worth it really. I just want a young PG and keeping our pick to get Barnes/Gilchrist would be ideal as well.
Calderon
Davis
J.Johnson
2013 1st ( top 10 protected)
For
A young PG (ie Jennings).
In any way to get it done. If it takes multiple teams with different players. Whatever. I just look at a lineup of
Brandon Jennings / Jerryd Bayless (6th Man)
Demar Derozan / SG (Defensive Stopper)
Harrison Barnes / Linas Kleiza / Gary Forbes
Andrea Bargnani / Amir Johnson
Jonas Valanciunas / C (FA Veteran)
I'd sign guys like Dahntay Jones & Emeka Okafor (if NOH amnesties him)
I have ideas on how to make a trade between us and Milwaukee work but I'd rather deal a 2013 pick than move down. That team up there looks SOLID at multiple positions

If we luck into A. Davis, I'd be all in for Harden, so yes, would happily give up those three assets. We'd basically be the Atlanta Hawks a few years ago at worse and could potentially be a more successful version of the current Celtics if our young trio can grow and develop together while we surround them with decent pieces.
Even if we don't luck into Davis, I think I at least offer up Bargnani and DD for Harden and Collison. If Bargnani plays like he has the last few games, Thunder probably don't go for it, but I like our chances if he can pick up his play at least close to where it was early in the season. Harden is just far easier to build around than what we currently have.

I'd rather not. I like Rondo but I don't think he makes sense here. Besides, Calderon expires in 2013 when Curry and Jennings are RFAs. I think I'd prefer to check them out. Nothing against Rondo though.
No. You make that deal and then a parade is thrown for you. To land Rondo and Bass for that package would get Ainge assasinated.
