The Bulls board mods said his health had been bad. But he did post less than a week ago. he was a lot older than most of us (in his 60s, apparently).

Boards like this are funny things. We're all (relatively) anonymous people. We have our online "friendships" and online "enemies". We fight and insult over a trivial sport and vest emotions and time in something that's nothing more than a daily distraction from our lives.

But, as J-Roc said quite correctly, this board is a monument to one's thoughts and a side of one's personality.

I thought it was topic-worthy (and sticky-worthy) because a loss of a stranger who, in some ways, was not a stranger at all, is a reminder of trivial and important this board can be.

in the end, Tommy Udo posted in a way that most of us didn't. I don't think he insulted or fought. He never trolled (even though I initially thought he'd come here to troll any Raptors' news that involved the Bulls) and if someone gave him lip, he didn't give it back. He posted like an intelligent gentleman and avoided the insults or barbs and stuck to the issues. he knew his stuff (even though he liked to post articles by that hack Sam Smith).

every now and then, we get a stark and sad reminder that there are humans posting each post and we should treat each other with respect.

I remember him a lot when I first started going on these boards, he posted some great stuff even Raptor news. I`ll miss him. RIP

Classy thread, guys. The love and respect for Tommy is appreciated. Great mod and insightful poster. Added a lot to the RealGM community -- not just the Bulls board.

Sad news when a staple of your community (even your online community) passes. I don't know about anybody else, but this has been an awful past ten or so days for deaths. Anyways, it's amazing that, without knowing a single person here in his real life, he was able to leave an impression on so many strangers.
