I think the Rucker thing was just 'a fan' as the poster said he was being outraged by the Fields signing like any intelligent person was at the time.

And he probably heard a couple of guys like JimKelly or someone similar say something in passing about Rucker being arrogant or conceited. Rucker does come across that way in the writing we have seen. Anyone who is super excited to pay Fields 20 Mill obviously thinks he knows something nobody else does.

I don't believe it for a second. Despite all "evidence" to the contrary, it is obvious Lowry is a selfish me-first shoot-first lazy point guard who only leads losing teams and will never have a future on a contending team. Also Casey is an untouchable coaching genius.

I am not sure when Casey brings in Lowry, and Lowry turns his back on Casey. I think he would talk to Casey and express his disappointment in some situations, but I thought Lowry is giving his freedom on offense, and he would respect Casey for some of his decision. Meanwhile, Lowry also said he agrees on Casey having Bargnani for the clutch time. Anyway, I see Lowry and Bargnani are on the same boat more than they are split.

Meanwhile, I am not sure who deserves more minutes. Only player that deserves more minutes is Calderon.

Sounds plausible to me. Does anyone know how big MLSE is? How many employees? That would be the only thing. Like if there are only 50 people there, then it might not be hard to figure out the guy.

Otherwise, it's true that season's tickets is what it's all about. The Jays will have a successful season next year even if everyone gets injured, because they'll sell tickets this offseason. BC sold his brand of oil all summer and had people pumped for his "acceleration". But if the team sucks into next summer and MLSE can see tickets will suffer, they can still fire him. Hope is alive!!

Not surprised about the comments about the Board not having a clue what is going on with the team. These guys are your typical suits that only care about the bottom line. If money is good, they go have a drink and enjoy the fine foods. BC probably thrives in this environment because he speaks their language.

A bit surprised about BC talking to Lowry about toning it down; didn't BC know what he was getting into when he brought on Lowry? Lowry has a history of being a bit of a rebel and someone who speaks his mind, but wasn't that what they wanted? They wanted Lowry to make this team more edgy and grittier, but you can't have that with guys like Bargnani as your lead guy; that is why Bargs has to go. Lowry keeps it up and I won't be surprised if he gets shipped out before Calderon. I do find it hard to believe BC will tell his team to play nice or they will be shipped out (guys like Ed or Lowry would probably jump on that ticket out haha).

It happens. He brought in Hedo but didn't realize Hedo was lazy.

Some of that information would never leave a room where it was said, never mind being passed down from worker to worker like it's high school.

I speak a little from personal experience because my sister in law once worked in the payroll dept at MLSE about 10 years ago for several years. I always bugged her about what's happening over there and she gave me nothing because she said nothing is ever said there, just like any other professional corporation.

Any high level information with that much detail would never filter down like that, especially with a property as high profile as the Raps and Leafs because the highest guy who would pass down that info would never trust anyone below him to keep that private and he sure wouldn't risk his job over it.

Good post. A lot of it did sound like subjective, behind-closed-doors kind of stuff.

I mean, the part where BC tells the players to lay off Casey and Bargnani or they'll be shipped out? Come on. Not only is there no way to hear something like that, but also that sounds like a good deal for the players. Oh no, they might get traded to one of the 28 teams better than us! And away from one of the league's least desirable markets!

Hmm, hard to say. Certainly plausible, although I would have thought that without the NHL season, MORE attention would be put on Bryan. And the head of Rogers is a big (6' 7") basketball buff. But maybe he's been too busy acquiescing to Beston/AA's proposals?

The Doug told PTS yesterday that things were very dark last week before the Mavs win, and that a firing seemed imminent. But he doesn't profess to have any sources.

Alan Smithee is a clever nickname. If true, then I think the OP may have dropped too many details that would make it easy for management to deduce who he is.

There's a lot of crossover now within the organization, so very few employees (if any) are Raptors only or Leafs only. If you count all execs and management in the Bay Street MLSE offices and include supervisors, marketing, finance, office staff, community relations, game-ops, full-time ticket sales staff etc, there are easily well over 100 people.

Sorry. Doesn't pass the smell test with me. The Board of Directors not caring about the Basketball side is hard to believe. These are people with big egos, lots of money and identities wrapped up in the fate of MLSE. They may not know a pick/roll from a pick/pop but they do know we haven't made the playoffs in 6 years and we're closer to worst than first.

Sounds legit.....but only because I could have dreamed that stuff up on my own.

None of it was really "earth shattering".

Yeah the part with Bargs is obviously meant to incite the board here where the Bargs hate is the strongest. He went a little far with the Bargs comment and that's what did him in because there is no feasible way that could be leaked so quickly from a private meeting with players. Did one of the players phone the marketing manager the next day to tell him what BC said? Geez the Carter/Mitchell wrestling story happened 8 years ago and we still can't get the story straight on that one. It's very well written so that's what gets people to believe it more easily. Like BC himself, it's all in the presentation. If you dress it up enough then you'll find a lot of buyers even if you're selling crap.

In any company you'll get the tidbits here and there and rumours (mostly personal though because who's screwing who is much more interesting to the office staff) but this guy's post is so in depth that it sounds like he went to a secret location after work with one of the "higher ups" with a tape recorder and both wearing hoodies. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy insisted that the poster call him "Deep Throat".

What's the big deal with info from inside the team meeting? It was already abnormal that it got out that players trashed Bargs and Lowry.

And that got out but this didn't? You'll get players saying off the record stuff to their favorite reporters but don't you think if the player that leaked the Bargs and Lowry trashing would also have mentioned a controversial BC comment that essentially says "it's the Bargs way or the highway" that's a pretty newsworthy comment and basically a comment that would cause a player revolt. No GM would say that (even BC with the Bargs mancrush)without alienating the entire team and that's the last thing he wants when he's on the verge of being fired. BC is not that dumb.

Honestly as soon as I saw that poster name Alan Smithee, it rung a bell. I think this guy started a thread a couple of years back saying he was a MLSE employee and he said some huge trade was imminent (might have involved Bosh???) And half the board bought it hook, line and sinker. I know this user name sounds familiar for some reason.
