so why wouldnt they just keep Millsap then if hes actually costing them LESS than the package their receiving. I could see it if Bargnani is sent to a 3rd team for a cheaper PF in return. I agree with you though i think Millsap is PERFECT for our lineup..

Maybe you'd have to orient it around Ross and an expiring like Kleiza, with cash going the other way. Then amnesty Bargs to avoid the tax. MLSE would be paying a ton of money, so wouldn't happen I guess.

it would have to be Kleiza + Gray + Ross and as you said doubt MLSE is going to pay all that. I dont think it would be hard to find a 3rd team though for Bargnani.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Why would they even take bargs, and allow us to keep the cheaper and better PF? If I am Utah, I would hang up if Amir is not mentioned in any Millsap deal.

i agree but i dont think they would ask for Amir. Hes a UFA. He can walk for nothing were one of the few teams over the cap but under the luxury tax. Teams over the luxury tax cant do a S&T.

DeRozan to ATL for 2 2013 1st rd picks (right now, sitting at 16 & 22)

Amnesty Bargnani

~7 mil in cap space generated.

Pick Gonzaga PF/C Kelly Olynyk at ~16, and at ~22, Texas PG Myck Kabongo

Sign Tony Allen & Anthony Morrow via Free Agency

Lowry/Kabongo
Allen/Ross/Morrow
Gay/Fields/Kleiza
Olynyk/Johnson
Valanciunas/Johnson

Myck Kabongo potentially takes over for Kyle Lowry in a year, or becomes a solid backup PG in the NBA, while fellow canadian Kelly Olynyk, makes a great (imo) pairing with Jonas in the frontcourt. Tremendous skill level, a bigger Luis Scola if you will.

I think its 50/50 weather minnesota trades Kevin Love ... But if they do I think the raps are one of the few teams with the pieces to make a deal.

Jonas Valanciunas
Terrence Ross
Quincy Acy
2014 1st Rounder
2014 Sac 2nd Rounder

Add that with Ricky Rubio, Chase Buddinger, and Derrick Williams and thats a wicked young core. Plus they have their own 2013 first rounder which will be top 7. Plus they have Memphis 2013 first rounder. Plus they could move Pekovic in a S&T for more young assests and picks. Plus they could move a very nice package of Kirilenko and Ridnour for more young players and picks.

If Minnesota chooses to kinda rebuild on the fly, they could position themselves extremely nicely moving forward. I dont know if BC would have the balls to trade Val but if Minnesota is looking to deal Love, he has to be **** all over it....

They would want a few other players and more picks. They'd prob want DD or Amir as well...

Simple deal

to Philly:
Andrea Bargnani

to toronto:
JRich
Josh Smith

to Atlanta:
Hawes
Ross

Amnesty kleiza.

let telfair, pietrus, lucas, anderson walk

sign Mo Williams/devin harris/Jack to the mle

That team above is way into luxury tax.

Smith + Richardson (12 million remaining) is a major financial commitment. Then using the MLE is just crazy.

What about

To TOR: Millsap + Brown
To UTA: Ross + Hawes
To PHI: Bargnani + Gray

Philly would have

Holiday / PG
Richardson / SG
Turner / SF
Bargnani / Young / Moutrie
Bynum / Allen / Gray

Lowry / Telfair / Watson (minimum)
Derozan / Morrow (signed)
Gay / Fields
Millsap / Amir / Acy
Val / Brown

+ minimum players filling out roster

Wiggins for Jonas

Post#50 » by pkiskool » Fri Mar 1, 2013 7:08 pm

Let's say a team that has a glaring hole at the C position but well padded at guard/forward position wins the lottery in 2014 - let's say maybe the Bobcats (Mullins? yuck), Wiz (Nene/Okafor is meh), and Cavs (Zeller, smh).
We all know Wiggins is going #1 but would Bobcats really want to blow up their current core of Kemba and MKG? Would Wiz want Wall and Beal to share the rock with Wiggins? We know Cavs are going all in with Uncle Drew and Waitors.

Having said that, would it be realistic for the Raps to offer Jonas for Wiggins, to whichever team drafts him?
I love Jonas and I see great things for him in the future but we all know this franchise has been nothing but disaster since VC left in early 2000's and we need our culture and identity back.
It's time to move on from the BC's 'Euro Project' in my opinion, although I have lots of respect for guys like Jose, Garbo, and now Jonas.
Get Wiggins, bring our boy home, build for something that could be absolutely tremendous for the history of basketball.

Bobcats would love to pair Jonas with Bismack down low, it would be impossible to get a lay up in there:
Kemba
Henderson
MKG
Biyombo
Jonas

Wiz would be ecstatic to see Jonas with Nene:
Wall
Beal
Webster
Nene
Jonas

Cavs finally would look great in this lineup:
Irving
Waitors
Gee
Tristan
Jonas

and then this would be us:
Lowry
DD
Wiggins (we would have to ship Rudy's expiring to someone, and get a C in return)
Amir
Gay Trade (or 2013 Draftee)

How does that sound?
I know we are not going to win Wiggins straight up from the draft, especially with a full off-seasoned Lowry, Rudy, and DD combo playing in 2013 season.

I am not sure if there is a need at SG/SF for Wiggins, but I wouldn't do Jonas.

Consider trading Bargnani for Cousins, and fetch Cousins and DeRozan for Wiggins.

OP I highly doubt said team would be willing to give up Wiggins for Jonas, plus I think Gay is sufficient at that spot
Masai's to do list
Trade - Ibaka

We have Lowry, Rudy, DeMar. Our backcourt is padded, why do you still want Wiggins? Cause he's that good? Yeah, well too bad every other team knows that too.

Not happening.

We want him for more than just being good as you know... Toronto boy... a guy that could finally start and end a career in T.O...

Someone would need to be out of their mind not to take that offer, and whoever that is I hope it's the GM that's offering it. I love Jonas and think he has a bright future but c'mon.
