Re: Poll: Masai Ujiri Approval Rating
Approve, out of the 3 things I wanted done this summer he's 2 for 3:
1. Trade Bargs for bench depth - Picked up Novak (shooter) and Camby (vet big but unfortunately it looks like he won't play for us, oh well, the man somehow still got a 1st and two 2nds to make us feel better)
2. Keep the starting lineup intact - So far so good. Haven't really heard any rumours either (except Demar/Bledsoe and I think most of us woulda done that one). Otherwise, all we've heard is that Rudy/Demar aren't being shopped. Very intrigued to see this SL in action next season
3. Upgrade the bench - Camby leaving will hurt but plenty of time left. Bench is looking weak right now and I'm not sure this SL is good enough to overcome

Re: Poll: Masai Ujiri Approval Rating
So far I approve.
Bargnani had to be traded and he got some picks and small contracts. I like the Stone signing in that it is a young player who he obviously thinks has potential.
I can't say he has done anything stupid yet, seems to be methodical in his approach, which I like.

Sounds like he's working on the bench with the Psycho T interest. With another upgrade or 2 to the bench I may to change to "strongly approve".

If we do indeed sign Hansbrough, then I will close this poll and start a new one - though I might wait a couple of days first to see if anything else hits.

Sounds good! My rating will trend downward.

I'm finding hard to approve of him when he's taking what limited cap we have and locking into the likes of Hansborough, Wright and Stone....wtf is he doing?!

I am neutral towards him at the moment. I guess I don't disapprove for now.

It's not about who we didn't get, it's about who we DID and who we locked our money into.

He traded primo pasta for picks. That alone should be enough for an approval.

Re: Poll: Masai Ujiri Approval Rating
So far, I'm liking it. He's filling out our roster with cheap role players. Guys with defined roles... BC had a problem getting those guys to compliment a team.
Bargnani for Novak (3 point sniper), 1st in 2016/ Two 2nd's, and Camby... A great deal for cap savings and filling the best thing about Bargnani's game: 3 pt shooting, with a better 6'10"+ shooter.
Then the signing of Hansbrough is good because he adds another dimention to our team depending on what we need that specific game. He can come in and impact the game with his "never back down" attitude.. he goes hard every time he's in the game. He's a guy you want on your team... and he's going to spark the fans.
None of these guys are all-stars, but they give a team a lot of different options off the bench. We need to get a better backup PG if we're going to do this properly. I'd love if we could sign Nate Robinson... he's just a serious spark off the bench. Our bench would be something to reckon with against other 2nd units.
Lowry/ Robinson / Stone
DeRozan / Ross
Gay / Fields / Acy
Johnson / Hansbrough / Acy
Valanciunas / Johnson / Gray

Re: Poll: Masai Ujiri Approval Rating
He is doing everything a tanking team should not do.
Traded the worst player on the team (bargs) before trading the core.
Filling needs on the bench
Taking in more salary
Compare this with PHI who traded their best player before anyone else (holiday), kept the disappointing Evan Turner, added no salary and no one of significance to their roster in order to maximize their draft position

Getting rid of clowns like Jim Kelly was a decade in the making.
For that alone, he should be given a Weiser clap.

I guess that means we're not tanking, and he's doing everything correctly to retool the team the right way.
ie. Hansborough signing, aquiring picks, removing Bargnani
Meanwhile, we haven't lost any assets and out biggest ones may bring us the best return come mid season if this is looking like a team with no soul. For now, I'm extremely impressed with the moves he's making without major destruction. Clownlagelo would have been so dramatic we'd be back at square 1 next season and probably in even worse shape than he left us in.

Re: Poll: Masai Ujiri Approval Rating
He is not BC. A 50% approval rating right there I would bet.
He worked hand in hand with the front office he just took over and got rid of a bunch of people.
Its like being your own narc
From all of us who work with tools and idiots to watch them get paid while others get the work done.
Thank you MU for canning their %$$es
