I don't think the team wanted to take on a first rounder's salary this year. This kid is not anywger close to NBA ready. Might see him in a couple of years.

Have no clue about the dude, but fact that no one else apparently did either is very intriguing. Bold move, must of been worried about San Antonio or some other late first round team sniffing around

I'm going to reserve judgement until I see him play. But too early to say that he's a bust because no one has even seen him play or heard of him before. There's been some great unknown players, so wait it out and see.

What I find funny is that the people in the draft thread spent so much time discussing the various prospects and thought that we were guaranteed from a list of Kyle Anderson, Ennis, Capela, Grant and etc and Masai goes and drops a bomb haha

I understand your point, but Valanciunas was a consensus top 5 pick before the draft. Raptors fans were just pissed because we all still had Bargnani on our mind.

We'll see. Nobody else on the board excited me at all so I'm not super pissed, but still...

- Long arm 7' 2" wingspan or something
- Can dribble with left hand, potential to be better
- 3 point shooting (4 - 4 on the clip, should be above average shooter)
- Good hustling
- Can block shots (man to man)
- Good lateral quickness

But weakness are being young and inexperience. Got lost easily on the defensive end (not sure about offensive end). Dribbling is not at the prof level for SF.

I believe that…

1. Masai knows talent.

2. Masai knew someone below us was going to take this kid before #37.

I also know that having an opinion on someone you have no clue about is silly.
