If you are on this forum ***** was the only acceptable answer to the poll. No rational analysis required.

I think he shows some good offensive ability. He can shoot. That's 90% of the battle right there. Too many guys get drafted high who can't shoot for crap, and then they flame out, or become minor role players because everyone remembers too late that shooting is a huge part of basketball! He has the physical tools.

Just get stronger, improve your game and instincts, but at least right now, he can get playing time and just catch and shoot. That is a good sign. Give him 5 - 7 minutes a game, play him with some starters to keep the pressure down, and just let him shoot wide open 3's, and try for some put backs, just get used to the game.

Also, let's be honest - with how deep our bench is, there is no way we were drafting anyone at 20 who would make an impact on our team. Maybe Ennis as a 3rd PG, but really, any young guy, no matter how ready our message board scouts think he may be, would ride the pine all year. So that makes this pick even better to me. Take a chance at something great, and if it doesn't work, well, at least you had ambition and tried something.

K people need to stop the hate on this kid. I think people are "over hyped" cause he looks a lot better than we thought and he was the twentieth pick for God's sake. And the summer league game he looked better than any of his YouTube clips.

I saw 4 or 5 times where a team mate got beat and he was there to disturb the pass and the Lakers turned it over. Got probably a good 10-11 touches on blocks and tips. Yes he is raw but he is wayyyy more along than what everyone was saying at draft and days after.

I'm not saying he is better than the top picks by any stretch of the imagination, but for the twentieth pick and for all the hate he looks pretty darn impressive.

Let's be honest, half this board just listens to media conventional wisdom, so they end up liking or hating a guy based on what they heard. I mean, I like Giannis, but he is raw as hell. Yet from what I read here, he is already a Lebron level superstar. I remember at the end of last season when people were projecting our final games, a few people had us losing to the Bucks a couple of times because they were afraid of Giannis. He averaged 7 points and 4.4 boards a game in 24 minutes. I mean...no one who watched him play would think he could single handidly beat us. They could think he is a great prospect....but a guy getting 7 points is no world beater.

And the same media driven "analysis" is what drives a lot of the hate here. Sure, Masai, a former professional scout, personally watched Bruno play a few times. And sure, our other scouts also saw him play and worked him out. But...but...a guy on ESPN who saw some grainy highlights said something catchy, so it must be true!!! And now there is no thread about the guy without someone thinking it's the very pinnacle of analysis to parrot "two years from being two years". Lots of sheep on this board. Whether or not Bruno makes it has nothing to do with what some guy on ESPN said.

I don't think people bring up the term "2 years away from being 2 years away" because they actually believe that. Hell, even if they did believe it, why wouldn't they? All that term is, is a timeline for development. The mere point of being 4 years away means they are still an NBA player and contributor at some point!

So, when posters post "2 years away from 2 years away" its the measuring stick for his expectations. Ross and Jonas have had 2 years in the league and are legit starters. What will they be in another 2 years?

I thought a solid amount of people watched the summer league game(s) yesterday and there was great analysis. You can't expect Bruno's first NBA competition level debut to not bring up what was said about him on INTERNATIONAL television during the draft...

Yup. All he has to do is be as good or better than MoPete to become our best value pick ever in the draft. Mo Pete was 23 in his rookie year.......so this kid has 4 years before we can start comparing his value to Peterson. That's how crazy young he is.

The "twos years away from being two years away" thing is just a funny quote. A clever quip that will be referred to many many times with him. In fact, until he starts doing something, Bruno's main claim to fame is inspiring it.

2 years from 2 years is a decent quote cuz the kids 18, isn't some superdeveloped atheltic phenom with dazzling skills. and played in brazil. Arguably he could have a decent impact if he learns to shoot well and have above avg defence before he turns 22. Its a reminder to newbs or fans who expect immediate impact/highlights not to expect much for a while. In that sense the quote is likely accurate and serves its purpose.

I mean for all I know he's 2 years away from being 2 years away from being 2 years away. I may need to remember that quote 4-6 years from now.

Yea he's raw. But one could argue DeMar was even Rawer in terms of production on the court. Bruno will be fine.

Bruno seemed pretty aggressive trying to go for o-boards, making his man work to box him out, like Jonas does. Love the attitude. Something that guys like Wiggins tend to lack --- being aggressive/engaged in the play without the ball in their hands (one of the major knocks against him at Kansas).

He is long and he can shoot. At the very minimum, we drafted a guy who very likely will have a reasonably long NBA career. That's very good for a 20th pick.

Anything better than that is gravy. Obviously we are expecting better than that since this is being advertised as an "upside" pick. But even if that upside fails to materialize, what we have is still a player who will hang in the NBA. There is always a market for shooting and length.
