At the top, click my posts. then go back to the last page. Its tough to find exact posts though (because obviously it goes by date), and sometimes it gives you an error msg.

Like heres a thread by the OP about a master list of coaches from 08. One of my first few posts on this board, I was still a jerk then too, hah sorry Troubadour.

Everytime I go to "my posts" I get the 1st page of most recent posts, but when I click the second page, or any page for that matter, i get:

Information: Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.

I believe there's a restriction on how quick you can look through your post history. If you wait about 15 seconds before switching pages it should work.

Thanks, that worked! Now I can spend the remainder of my work week reading all the crap I posted for the past 8 years!

Okay, shout out to this guy:

This post was made in a really sad, earnest thread I made right after Jermaine O'Neal was traded to the Raptors. I asked the question - what happens if O'Neal is hurt and the season ends terribly? People had all kinds of responses, but Calderoni_8 said this

Oh boy, you just put my whole Bargnani Point-Centre post right out there, didn't you?

Did I hurt you or something? That was harsh, lol!

God, I remember I was trying to be so, so positive about Bargs. People were down on him, and I just thought he needed time and the right opportunity. I didn't want to jump on the hatewagon like a lot of others, and wanted to offer a possible counterpoint...

...and man, was I unbelievably wrong. What the hell is a Point-Centre, anyway? I must have been ******* high.

I honestly can't stop laughing at my stupid post. Thanks for this, this is a really great thread.

I was all in on Bargnani, too. When I saw that post on Bargnani being a point-centre, though, I died laughing. I started a thread called "Make an offer for Carmelo" and this was the Raptors' "offer"

Andrea Bargnani + TJ Ford + #17

Carmelo + filler

I thought it was a forgone conclusion that we were taking Demar a 9 wasn't it?

I remember the picture of Demar at the Toronto workout were there was light shining behind him and he looked like the saviour of the franchise

It's fun to go back and read old topics, especially the Bargnani ones

Left Side Drive wrote:And this is why you don't listen to RealGM for draft speculation. Yeah some guys will get it right but most are absolutely clueless as it should be since we aren't the ones making the actual decisions. Terrence Williams had potential but was far from a sure thing.

We also had some bad reactions to both JV and T Ross but now both are shaping up to be good players.

I agree. The 2009 draft was flooded with posters who wanted Terrence Williams, Gerald Henderson, and Brandon Jennings over DeMar. I knew most of us wanted Harden but that didn't seem possible as he was a top 3 pick no doubt. I could understand the Jennings hype but it just so happened that he doesn't fit as a PG on most teams. Jrue Holiday fell hard in the draft and that was one player we thought was going to be a good pick, but you can't go wrong with DeRozan now.

2011 was hilarious as it was filled with posters who wanted Brandon Knight and Bismack Biyombo. Kemba Walker was hyped as well but I didn't think he was going to be a top PG. In a league where PGs come and go and are a dime a dozen, big men are more important (especially Centers). I can't lie, I wanted Kanter but hearing more and more about Valanciunas got me interested.

I actually didn't want Harden that much because I thought he'd be to slow

I thought he played an old man game, boy was i wrong

and I remember liking Tyrek but he kept moving up in the rankings so I knew we wouldn't get him

I also would have been cool with Jrue

I was always an advocate for 1. Jrue 2. Derozan. In the end, I don't think you can go wrong either way. Not surprised that BC took Derozan and not disappointed he didn't take Holiday. It was a pretty boring draft IMO.

I don't know why alot of people were fascinated with Terrence Williams, and I was so glad the Raptors didn't go after James Johnson. They were 'meh' prospects and projected to be a rotational player at best with whatever amount of research I partook.
#Raptors are 7-1. In 6 of the past 10 seasons, a team that has started a season 7-1 has gone on to win an NBA championship.

Enter this search term in Google (replace [username] with your username)

Code: Select all

--> To search your posts on Raptors board only
[username] site:http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewforum.php?f=32

--> To search your posts on *all* of RealGM
[username] site:http://forums.realgm.com

Then you can use Google to filter your search results by specific dates. Eg. Click "Search Tools" and then click the menu that says "Any Time" to enter a custom filter.

Crazy in hindsight, but not crazy in the moment. Bargs' failure is all on him. You can't say he didnt have the talent to make it work. He's just a fatass.

Bargs-Bosh didnt work. We needed a defensive C to pair with one of them, and not a JO. We got a decent return on him, so I aint even mad

Don't feel so bad. The Spurs just won a championship with a flabby European point-centre in Boris Diaw. You were just ahead of your time and looking a few hundred miles too far east.

BTW, OP, thank you for this fantastic thread.

Fantastic idea and execution for an off-season thread. Absolutely love it.

Thanks for putting together. I hope this concept can gain momentum like the Stat of the Day threads did back in the day (though I wouldn't expect one of these daily obviously).
