You the Denver GM?
I know this site is called RealGM but...
#Raptors are 7-1. In 6 of the past 10 seasons, a team that has started a season 7-1 has gone on to win an NBA championship.

All they have to offer are role players, and we have enough of those. No sense in making any lateral swaps.

I'm out on Javale and Danillo. Why take the risk for minimal upside. When you look at a guy like Chandler, are we sure giving him minutes over Ross and JJ improves the team?

The two guys who would fill holes or be upgrades would be Afflalo and Mozgov. If you could get either or both for minimal assets and expirings, it's worth it. Afflalo would be an upgrade over Ross in the starting lineup, while bringing Ross off the bench should help our depth even more. Mozgov is an obvious upgrade over Hansbrough/Steemer/Hayes, so that's the best fit. Good guy for JV to practice against too. Past couple years he's going up against scrubs and undersized guys in practice, against Mozgov he couldn't fall back on his physical advantage as much.

He'd fit well on the time and give us the clear cut #1 Bench in the league so Mozgov would be good

But I'd just be so damn nervous that Casey would give him more playing time than Jonas.

Should we trade for:

One of Gallo/Chandler
Mozgov
Yusuf
McGee
Faried

Maybe all? We can deepen our roster if we trade for them all.

They might but that would put the Raptors in the tax and for what? Are you able to even find minutes for the guys you're getting? The guys you are sending play like 10 minutes per/g combined.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

You of all people should understand that the man we have building this team is a wizard of getting something for nothing.

Lou Williams and Bebe for Salmons

Hell we might have a pick (that could originally have belonged to you) in the top 10 in 2016 for Andrea Freakin Bargnani.

Why would the Raptors want Affalo?

The backcourt / wing is already crowded and he's not playing better than anyone currently in that role for Toronto.

Fields + Hayes + Raptors 2016 First for Gallinari

If we wait until he gets healthy and has a string of good games, his value could easily skyrocket, so buy low. Besides, he expires in 2016 anyways, which falls in line with many of our contracts.

The obvious fit to me is Mosgov - we don't really have a great backup 5 (although I do like Steinsma for what he's paid) and that would add some nice depth.

The love for Gallo makes sense - a healthy Gallo would be great for this team. It's easy to forget that one of the biggest issues with this team is outside shooting - we have just enough right now. An injury to Ross or Patterson could kill the spacing of the team. That being said, he's been completely awful this year, and who knows if he can bounce back. Not to mention, unless we trade someone in the rotation, there isn't really minutes for him - Johnson and Ross already kind of fill in that role.

I think chasing Faried would be interesting, but assuming we're giving up Amir & assets, that would really set us back defensively.

Hickson won't cost much and he's a great rebounder. No brainer to make a play on him.

Now is NOT the time to swing for the fences. We have a really good, young team that is growing but there is zero need to reach. Hickson addresses a need and would likely require us to give up almost zero assets.

Ideally, we could just trade Hansbrough for Mozgov, but in reality we'd probably need to add some extras to the deal.

Other than Lawson though he will not fit our team..I see nothing interesting on that roster..nothing!
:) Sure if Denver wants to do a 3-way for expiring contracts and OKC is ok to send us Ibaka for Faried then sure :)

Fields/Hans to Denv ==> Faried+... to OKC ==>Ibaka to TO sure! why not

The only players that are intriguing are:

JJ Hickson--solid player that rebounds at a good rate--would be a good backup to JV
Faried I doubt they trade but would be interesting with the Masai connection but would take quite a bit to get him.
Harris--Raptors were reported to wanting to take him with the 20th pick but there is no reason for Denver to trade him.
Mosgov- A good young player but will be asking quite a bit of money when we are about to pay both JV and Ross.

Return to Toronto Raptors
