This is a different era. The International influence with ball movement, 3s and heavy use of PnR, as well as advanced stats which better show a players ability to help a team win, all make the game way different than it was when he was at his peak. Let's just hope his mind for the game has changed and he doesn't revert back to how things were in his day.
It is a little concerning that our head coach is an old school defensive coach who's been slow to adapt to the new style of basketball. Two of our big 3 are old school ISO style players. Our former player assistant coach played the exact way players shouldn't play today as well. Without a true superstar it doesn't bode well that so many key parts of our team are playing catch up to the new style of modern NBA basketball.
This seems to escape foundational understanding. Good players have almost always been efficient; great offensive players have definitely always been thus, leastwise era-relative. Stack was a two-time AS who was briefly recognized for volume production but never consistently seen as a great player because he didn't bring wins...
