I feel bad because he is one of the few loyal guys left..
On the other hand, we got a legit star player now

Failing?
More like his supporting cast failed him.
Lol no.
DeMar is not good enough to have a group of guys labelled as "his supporting cast". If anything, he was supposed to be supporting them.

Re: Demar Vents Frustration About Loyalty
If you're being so harsh on DD, just imagine it from his standpoint. Or just any nba player's standpoint.
You move from your hometown to go work for a company in another city (or country). You embrace that city. You work hard for the company (criticisms aside, DD still worked his ass off and was key to the best Raptors run we've ever had). Next thing you know, you get shipped out when it's convenient for the company.
I know that getting traded is just part of the deal of being a highly paid nba player, but how do you expect loyalty out of players when they know full well that something like this would happen?

This is the ugly part of sports, Demar has been nothing but class and a loyal to a city thats sorely needed it. But at the same time hes never been good enough for a team to commit that back to him.
Im deeply saddened it had to end like this

I feel bad for Demar but at the end of the day it's a business and it's about the wins and losses. He got a lucrative deal from the Raptors. It can't be that bad for him.
He had his chance to do prove others wrong in the playoffs and he failed. It's time to move on. He'll be fine.

I was just reading this stat the other day about how 1 billion people make 1-2 dollars a day, 4 billion people make between 2-8 dollars per day, and then it just blows your mind that people are getting upset that a dude who is making millions a year, getting executive meals around the clock, massages, physiotherapy, personal training, coach busses, private jets and we have to feel sorry for the guy but he gets to move to another team where he makes millions.
Don't get me wrong, he poured his heart out for our team, but I don't feel sorry for these guys one bit, they live extremely privileged lives.

4 billion people do not make 2-8 dollars per day. don't be naive and believe everything you read on the internet.

Re: Demar Vents Frustration About Loyalty
Imagine if Kawhi doesn’t pass his physical
I have mad respect for DD’s character and loyalty..it sucks that he wasn’t a high-end all-star. Loyalty is only useful if you’re a winner.
At the same time, DD had the best situation he could have possibly had with Toronto and if he goes to the Spurs, he’ll be in another great situation with great coaching and management.
There’s nothing DD needs to feel bad or be bitter about.

Re: Demar Vents Frustration About Loyalty
I cringe on his quote: "Sell you out quick for a little bit of nothing". So Kawhi is little bit of nothing for him?!?!
Masai got a mad respect from me if he pulls this through. Even if the trade does not materialize, now when he is out with this he has to ship him somewhere else and that itself is GREAT accomplishment.

Toronto fans turn ruthless on their most loyal star in the history of the franchise
It's a questionable trade given its likely a 1 year rental

You don't like Demar so your words hold less weight.
Secondly, Demar has every right to feel the way he does. He was here when we were garbage and helped make the best era in Raptors history exercising ghosts, winning conferences and being an outstanding community guy showing great loyalty. It's very hard to see Demar the person leave. It's easy to see Demar the player has plateaued and bringing in MVP candidate makes us a better team on both sides of the ball.

Re: Demar Vents Frustration About Loyalty
Sure he was loyal but his contract didn't reflect the value we were getting from Demar as a player. We needed to get out of that contract anyway you can and San Antonio fortunately took it out of hands.
Masai's to do list

We paid you $150 mill before anyone even made an offer, we gave you one of the highest usage rates even though you weren't very efficient. We treated you well Demar, let's not make it look like it was only you who gave favors.
