Your flaws show in the playoffs. Don't buy into the media propaganda. Simmons' value is dropping like a rock.

Buy low when every team is kicking the tires? Good luck with that.

Did you accidentally switch the positions of 'and' and 'for' in that sentence?

Simmons doesn't fit the culture of this team tbh.

Kyle and future 1st is all I would do

Fvv
Suggs
Simmons
OG
Pascal

Bench:
Flynn
Trent
Boucher
Birch

Looks good on paper, may need another bench scorer but that starting 5 is very intriguing defensively

With Lowry the Sixers are in the finals right now. Philly would make that trade we don't need sweeteners.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

Wouldnt give up too much for him, but hard not to take a shot at a buy low opportunity. Dont think we can beat Brogdon/13 offer tho

Philly’s asking price if it’s Kyle in a sign and trade would be Kyle plus our number 4 pick. Do you want to give up our pick this year? Me neither, so drop the Kyle crap. The trade would obviously revolve around Pascal or OG for Simmons. I would listen as long as we keep our pick. It’s not available.

My guess is the trade doesn’t happen because apparently the 76ers asking price is ridiculous.

Imagine if we got Thybulle for Lowry and signed Noel.. which defensive lineup do you prefer? I'd go with the Noel/Thybulle personally.

Fvv
Suggs
Og
Pascal
Noel

Flynn
Thybulle
Trent
Boucher
Birch

You'd put Simmons at SF instead of C?

As a defense first playmaking C surrounded by people who can shoot, he could do well.

If we can get Simmons at a low price, I think he could actually be really good here.

But I don't know what sort of trade would make sense. Lowry for Simmons is not nearly enough, Lowry & #4 for Simmons seems like way too much.

Maybe Fred, Boucher, two seconds and a future first?

We could re-sign Lowry & Trent, and run a small lineup of:

Lowry/Flynn
Suggs/Trent
OG/Yuta
Siakam/
Simmons/Birch/Gillespie

That's a lot of playmaking (too much?), speed and defence. If Mobley were to drop to us, it would make a bit more sense.

I don't know. I don't see a realistic trade here.

Simmons would actually be good used in a Lamar Odom point foward role at the 4.

You need shooters at 1,2,3 positions. You can accept not getting shooting production at the 4 if thats the case because he's an elite defender and a solid playmaker. Less pressure for him too.

Thats an ideal scenario for him.

I feel like the Raptors are always thrown in there to bring up the price when a team is trying to trade a player. Personally I do not understand the obsession with Simmons. A guy who can't shoot in today's nba after 5 seasons and owed more than 140 millions? I prefer we stay away.

Masai has to do his due diligence and at least kick the tires.

But ultimately, I don't expect anything comes of this. Simmons and Siakam are a terrible fit and as of right now Siakam is better. Unless you're planning on moving Siakam, I just wouldn't bother paying what Simmons is likely going to cost.

With Embiid, Simmons, and Lowry they are in the finals. Not with just Embiid and Lowry though.

Simmons is one of the most inept scorers of all time, but his defence is elite. He has a case for best defender in the NBA and that still adds value to a team.

Correct. And we already have a 4.

So unless Simmons is coming for a Lowry S&T and some little odds and ends, I wouldn't bother with this.

I dont see the infatuation for a guy who is scared to shoot a jumper and who's FT numbers are atrocious.

If you want Simmons, none of you can talk about how bad Siakam or anyone elses shot is. Or playing 4 on 5 on offense.

If Simmons is coming here, pascal has to be going the other way imo or you trade him to Golden State for Wiseman and picks.
I can't see Simmons and Pascal playing together since there will be no spacing on the floor.

It doesn't appear that Simmons wants to be fixed. He is what he is at this point.

I agree with this, but I'm just saying if there's any team that can perform this long shot developmental miracle it's us. For the record I don't want Ben Simmons on this team, I'm just saying the Raps developmental program might be the only one that even has a slim chance of fixing him.

You can't develop someone who refuses to develop. He thinks his game is fine, and has no qualms about it.
