I'd rather have a 6'9 guy that can give you 18 points in 16 minutes. We have enough of everything else.

If what Precious is showing us is real we definitely don’t need anyone else. Him Birch and Boucher are more than enough I think.

My last cut would be Bonga. What's he going to provide that Banton can't at this point?

Dekker gives you instant scoring. Ish gives you 3+D. They provide skills that the Raps could use at the end of the bench.

Yeah I like Bonga but meh... it's a duplicated skill set.

He is 21 though, despite looking 54. Maybe he's benjamin buttoning it.

I think Bonga makes the team based on him getting the start over Champagnie and Svi last night

Still think Dekker is cut

The fact that Bonga didn't get cut already probably indicates 905.

Him or Ish really...

The great Angolan cultural hero Bonga doesn't look a day over 60, thanks for asking.

got a feeling we're gonna keep ishmail just for the fact that we could still put bonga in the 905 while ishmail would go back to Europe.

Absolutely. Bonga 905 without question.

He's ineligible for the 905. I bet he makes the team based on his overall play and age. I would think the final spot comes down to the 2 27 year olds.

Wait, why is Bonga ineligible for the 905?

Because of how much his gurantee is. I believe if it's over a certain amount you aren't eligable for the 905. I think it's if it's over 50K or something.

If Colangelo was the GM, Dekker would be signing for 3yr/21 million. Fortunately Masai is in charge. Bonga and Wainwright make it.

While I agree guys like OG, Pascal, Precious can guard guys like Jokic and Embiid (and to a lesser extent Drummond), it isn't ideal and you risk injury. That's why I think Gillespie and Perry being waived is a nod to Wainright to make the team: he's only 6'6 but like Jae Crowder might have the requisite bulk and body to at least get some minutes (10-12 min) defending said brute big men, if only to save the wear and tear on our more important players. Add on that his jumper looks functional he's solid defensively even on the perimeter, and by all accounts is a good locker room dude with good vibes (need to replace Gillespie in that regard), he's team first (according to his college coach) and probably won't make a stink of being the 15th man and only getting real play time against bigger centers, which will be what?...barring injury, 6 games in the RS?

Where is Yuta in this choice? Is he already guaranteed to be on the roster?

So far the right cuts I believe Bonga gets cut then sent to the g-league. Not sure why decker gets so much hate around here he looks like a solid depth player if we were ever dealing with injuries has experience

Experience? He was out the league the last 2 years.
Last season was the first time that he shot very well from 3, but that was in Europe
Both Svi and Bonga have started more NBA games than he has and are both much younger.

Dekker's profile as a player does not fit compared to Svi, Bonga and others. Unless he has some hidden defensive skills we are not aware of.

Just keeping an eye out on who gets cut across the league. There is a possibility that neither Bonga or Dekker is kept. I think Wainwright is a lock given how developed he is and just across the board impactful.

Recently waived by other NBA teams:

Jahlil Okafor - more of a redraft prospect at this point but he is big and physical (6'10") and only 25 so there is some potential there.

Daniel Oturu - more of a traditional C who was a very good college player, still only 21 and can block shots and score a bit. Not really been given much of an opportunity to play and was only drafted last year.

Wenyen Gabriel - 6'9" - 7'1" wingspan - quick switchable defender with a high motor but is simialr to Bonga - In Kentucky, Wenyen shot 36.7 percent from three and in the G-League made 38 percent of his threes. Maybe too similar Bonga.

A.J. Lawson - good size wing with good athleticism and emerging as a shooter. More of G-League guy but could be a good fit with 905.

I thought Svi is already a lock which is why I didn't include him. When I say experience I mean the more polished player, one that could step in and provide if we needed him in a emergency injury situation. I like Bonga but he seems very raw would like to see him developed in the g-league for a season or two.
